Professional wrestler Tommy End, formerly known as Aleister Black in WWE, has debuted for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under his new name, Malakai Black.

Black appeared in the ring during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT following a mysterious blackout. He then proceeded to lay waste to both Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes with a pair of devastating kicks (all while Tony Schiavone nonchalantly exited the ring).

There seems to have been a bit of confusion regarding Tommy End’s new name. Earlier today, the wrestler shared a bloody short film on Instagram, the credits of which appeared to declare his new ring name as “Malakai Blacks.” However, following his debut on Dynamite, the official All Elite Wrestling Twitter account dubbed him “Malakai Black,” as did the show’s announcers (though they also acknowledged his history as Tommy End).

Meanwhile, the official All Elite Wrestling on TNT actually misspelled his name as “Malachi Black” in its own post welcoming the wrestler to AEW. That post was quickly deleted and reuploaded to read “Malakai Black,” implying that this is, in fact, the correct spelling. The confusion appears to have been put to rest for good thanks to ShopAEW.com and ProWrestlingTees.com listing the wrestler’s first official AEW t-shirt, which reads “Malakai Black.”

Born in the Netherlands as Tom Büdgen, Tommy End made his professional wrestling debut in 2002, performing for various independent promotions across the United Kingdom and Europe, such as Pro Wrestling Holland (PHW), Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) and Progress Wrestling, among others. Tommy End also wrestled for North American promotions like Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Evolve and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), as well as Japan’s Big Japan Pro Wrestling (BJW).

Büdgen signed with WWE in 2016, debuting for its NXT developmental brand in early 2017 under the name Aleister Black. Black won the NXT Championship in 2018 and held it for just over 100 days. He was called up to WWE’s main roster in 2019. However, his tenure with WWE came to an end earlier this year, as he was among the superstars released by the company on June 2. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the newly-christened Malakai Black in AEW.
