Warning! Spoilers for Avengers #50 by Marvel Comics
The Multiverse is vast, but Marvel’s newest version of Thanos is making it his personal quest to kill every Odin in existence. In Avengers #50, Kid Thanos is embarrassed by the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE, as Odin ties him up and dares him to return someday. Thanos takes his words to heart, as he makes killing Odin in every reality his biggest mission – and finds success in killing a version of the hero.
In Avengers #50, readers are taken on a Multiverse-spanning adventure that sets the stage for what’s to come next for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. She-Hulk returns to her old form and departs from the Avengers, Black Panther sends Ka-Zar in a mission across space and time, and more is revealed about the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE. The issue also features the formation of the Multiversal Masters of Evil, who Mephisto assembles to take control (and destroy) the Multiverse. Doctor Doom Supreme spearheads the group, handpicking a team of villains to assist him in his quest – including Kid Thanos, who is more than happy to kill any heroes, especially Odin, who stand in his way.
In Avengers #50 by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Javier Garron, Rafael Fonteriz, Ed McGuinness, Carlos Pacheco, David Curiel, Alex Sinclair, Matt Hollingsworth, Rachelle Rosenberg, David Baldeon, and Israel Silva, Kid Thanos (a different Thanos from the Multiverse) arrives in the Marvel Universe in One Million B.C. However, his thirst for blood is met by the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE, who quickly chain up the villain despite his promise the last thing the heroes will ever see is him “unspooling their insides.” Odin throws Kid Thanos through a portal created by Agamotto, with the talkative villain telling the Avengers he will “eviscerate the Earth if it’s the last thing I do!!” Odin dares him to come back if he wants “another spanking.”
Marvel’s new Multiversal Thanos returns when Doctor Doom Supreme assembles his own team at the behest of Mephisto, as he’s handpicked as one of the deadliest villains across space and time. Naturally, when the Multiversal Masters of Evil visit Earth-818, he uses a massive gun to burn that universe’s version of Odin to a crisp, telling him “I get to kill all of the Odins.”
Marvel’s newest Thanos is young, cocky, and craves violence perhaps even more than the original Earth-616 version. Since Odin led the charge in his greatest defeat and embarrassment, Kid Thanos’ personal quest to kill every single Odin in the Multiverse seems to be the only thing on his mind. Can Thanos pull it off? Readers will learn more as Avengers #50 by Marvel Comics is in stores now.
