Prison Break’s Michael and Sara have long been considered one of TV’s favorite couples. A convicted felon and a prison doctor falling in love with each other was a storyline that excited many. From the walls of Fox River to the Ogygia prison, Michael and Sara’s love has known no bound.

Over time, both individuals have been loving and loyal to each other even when things have not gone according to plan. Despite the many challenges they have faced, the two have shared many sweet and romantic moments that audiences have loved. Here are the 10 Sweetest Michael and Sara Moments.

10 Their First Meeting

No moment is more memorable in the course of their relationship than their first meeting. When getting to know each other, Michael asks why someone like Sara, being the governor’s daughter and all, would choose to work in a prison. She states that she believes in being part of the solution. Michael then quotes the famous “Be the change you wish to see in the world” Gandhi quote which gets Sara’s attention.

She eventually confesses that it was her high school senior quote and Michael playfully responds with “ oh that was you” which amuses her. There is no doubt from this first meeting that Michael and Sara had chemistry and understood each other’s humor which was a must in this relationship.

9 When Sara Looked Out For Michael in Fox River

When Sara finds out that Michael and Lincoln are brothers, she suddenly feels a sense of empathy for Michael and extends him a listening ear in the prison. Not only does she provide Michael with a sense of emotional support during his visits but is considerate enough to schedule Michael and Lincolns’ infirmary visits close to each other so the brothers catch a glimpse of one another in the prison.

Sara goes as far as looking into Michael’s past and when asked by fellow nurse Katie why she was doing so, she said that she felt like Michael was someone she could get through to. If that’s not sweet, then we don’t know what is.

8 When Michael Rescued Sara

Sara was not the only one who looked out for Michael as in S1 episodes 6 and 7 “Riots, Drills and The Devil”, Michael rescues Sara from a prison riot that was threatening to her life. Michael not only puts himself in danger by rescuing Sara but also risks jeopardizing his breakout plans to save the good doctor.

Not only did he bring her to safety that day but he also made sure she was protected throughout. This prison rescue really set Michael apart from the other prisoners which allowed him to gain Sara’s trust.

7 Michael And Sara’s Many Reunions In S2

Sara and Michael’s relationship was at a standstill at the beginning of S2. Following Michael’s escape, both parties found it difficult to not only unite but also mend their relationship. However, that didn’t stop them from trying to reconnect multiple times throughout the season. In the S2 Episode 10 “Rendezvous”, they meet for the first time since the breakout, and Michael takes the chance to apologize to Sara for all the harm he had caused her.

Although this does not mend their relationship, it is obvious that they both still cared for each other. They eventually meet up again in S2 Episode 16 “Chicago” and this time Sara gives Michael a warm embrace and this is where they kiss for the first time outside of the prison walls. This happens again when they meet again in the S2 finale where audiences can soak in the last moments of sweetness between the two as they aren’t due to meet again until S4.

6 When Michael Finds Out Sara is Alive

In S3, showrunners Matt Olmstead and Paul Adelstein decided to kill off the character of Sara Tancredi. However, as a result of fan outcry, they brought her back and fans could not have been the only ones overjoyed to see her again. In S4 Episode 1 “Scylla”, Michael and Sara reunite and share a loving moment.

After both going through terrible ordeals, the moment could not be sweeter as they reminisce on how much they loved each other and most importantly how each one brought the other comfort. Michael and Sara’s reunion in S4 is the beginning of a blossoming relationship in this season.

5 When Sara Calls Herself Michael’s Wife

When Michael collapses and finds himself in hospital in S4, Sara stays patiently by his side while the doctors treat him. Afterward, Sara lets Michael know that in order to keep updated with his condition that she had to tell the nurses that she was his wife. Michael pleasantly surprised says “that has a nice ring to it”.

This is, of course, a foreshadowing of their nuptials later on in the series but this is a very sweet moment shared between the two in one of the most frightening times for both of them. This sweet moment is what keeps both parties fighting for each other during this season especially as Michael’s condition worsens deteriorates.

4 When They Finally Made Their Relationship Official

Michael and Sara have had many ups and downs, to say the least. This has led to their relationship status to be left up in the air. When they reunite in S4 Episode 2 “Breaking and Entering”, Sara tells Michael that the only reason she stayed alive through Gretchen’s torture in S3 was in the hopes that she could him again.

Sara states that she wanted a clean slate and for them to start fresh in their relationship. Although Michael jokingly states that he hasn’t quite found the time to divorce his wife Nika and commit to Sara, he agrees that they both should put the past behind them and start fresh. In that episode, they finally decide to commit to one another and become a couple.

3 When They Get Married

Michael and Sara get married in Prison Break’s Final Break. Unlike Michael’s plans which always seem to elaborate and grandiose; Michael and Sara’s wedding was simple and minimal.

Married at a beach with Lincoln and Sucre as witnesses and a marriage celebrant, this wedding was the sweetest break that these two characters ultimately deserved. Although what comes next for them is less than desirable, their reunion in S5 of the show ultimately makes up for it.

2 When They Reunite In S5

After years of not seeing each other and with Michael presumed dead, Michael and Sara finally reunite in S5 Episode 7 “ Wine Dark Sea”. Their reunion is more or less sacrificial with Sara giving Michael a life-saving blood transfusion. For fans of the show, it seemed like a flashback into the couple’s first meeting at the infirmary in Fox River.

Nevertheless, fans were still able to feel the resounding chemistry and love that exists between the two despite years of being apart. Sweetest of all, Michael reunites with his son and lives Sara happily ever after (that is if an S6 doesn’t happen of course)

1 First Kiss

Whether it’s in a TV show or in real life, first kisses are always special and memorable and Michael and Sara’s was no exception. At first, having a felon kissing the prison doctor felt scandalous, to say the least. But the sweet moment consolidated that their feelings were mutual.

Even though Michael was using Sara as part of his escape, this first kiss showed us that Sara wasn’t just part of the plan for Michael as he truly started to fall for her and she for him. Although they don’t kiss again until S2, Michael and Sara’s first kiss was enough to keep us invested in their relationship until the next season.
