Spider-Man: No Way Home gets a tantalizing poster design seeing Matt Murdock as Peter Parker’s lawyer in a new piece of fan art. The third installment in the latest Spider-Man franchise is shaping up to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most anticipated entry since Avengers: Endgame. This is thanks in large part to casting announcements and rumors regarding the Multiverse and familiar faces from Sony’s past franchises. The film’s long-awaited teaser trailer—which has now eclipsed Endgame in views—reveals the return of Spider-Man 2’s Doctor Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (William Dafoe?), and also teases villains like The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Electro (Jamie Foxx).

In addition to Tom Holland’s web slinger, No Way Home is also expected to feature Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, who will help deal with their respective baddies. Another hero rumored to be returning to the MCU is Charlie Cox’s lawyer by day, crime fighter by night, Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Following Netflix’s cancellation of the beloved series, Marvel Studios now exclusively owns the rights, and theories suggest Cox’s character will aid Peter in his legal troubles. Spider-Man: Far From Home mid-credits scene saw Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) reveal Spider-Man’s identity and implicate him as a murderer.

Digital artist Spdrmnkyxxiii recently posted a No Way Home poster design to Instagram. The piece reworks Peter’s interrogation scene from the recent teaser trailer, placing Matt Murdock right next to him. Check it out below:

No Way Home’s teaser begins with the fallout of Far From Home’s mid-credits scene. Peter is then questioned about Mysterio’s death in a police station before a faceless man in a white shirt and black tie slams a bunch of files on the table. The internet’s dissection of this figure’s profile has led to speculation that this person is indeed Matt Murdock. Since there is obviously no way to confirm this is Cox, it’s just as likely that this tease is a misdirection with the figure merely being another person questioning Peter. However, given Matt Murdock’s vocation and affinity for masked vigilantes, it would make sense for him to help clear Peter’s name.

Later in the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser, Peter asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to somehow undo Mysterio revealing his secret. At that point, it would seem Peter is a free man, overwhelmed by being a very public and controversial figure. Even if Peter’s lawyer isn’t Matt Murdock, he’s sure to have a good one. Not unlike the case with Maguire and Garfield, Cox’s inclusion seems like a no-brainer. Not only is the actor’s portrayal beloved, but Daredevil frequently encounters Spider-Man and his villains as they operate in New York City. Regardless, the upcoming film’s promotional material is wise to only focus on elements that have been confirmed and leave the rest for the big screen.
