10 Maria Hill
Maria Hill is a character who should definitely appear in the Secret Invasion series. She’s been Fury’s constant companion since her debut and has exclusively appeared alongside him in recent times. Her usefulness is through her role of being Fury’s right-hand figure.
Maria is a competent agent in her own right, having completed S.H.I.E.L.D. training and with the ability to contend with qualified agents. Fury has made particular use of his trust in her, as Maria was the one who knew he was still alive in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and gave consent for her appearance to be copied by the Skrulls in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
9 Thor
On paper, Thor might be the strongest character Fury is aligned with. He’s the God of Thunder who’s lived for thousands of years and was the one to kill Thanos. However, Fury’s alliance with Thor has been sensitive at times, as they clashed over Asgard’s interference on Earth.
There’s also the fact that Fury wasn’t able to use any of Asgard’s resources despite Thor being part of the Avengers. Thor proved to be a powerful ally in Avenger: Age of Ultron, but his and Fury’s association ended soon after that.
8 Spider-Man
From what is known about Spider-Man: No Way Home so far, it will take a look into the multiverse. Nick Fury might yet have a bigger need for this ally. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, he had sent Talos to recruit Spider-Man as he felt he could take up the mantle left by Iron Man.
Spider-Man’s incredible agility, durability, and the powers of a spider make him one of Fury’s best bets against his enemies. The only snag might be Peter’s reluctance to be involved in Fury’s plans, which prevents him from being as reliable as other allies he has.
7 Hawkeye
Among the things known about the Hawkeye series, it looks like Nick Fury’s will not be making an appearance in the show. However, that’s not to say the relationship between Hawkeye and Fury isn’t strong. Rather, Hawkeye was seen to be a valuable part of Fury’s team, having been a high-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Hawkeye’s earlier exploits were all missions he was handed by Nick Fury.
It was due to Hawkeye’s decision not to kill Black Widow that Fury gained another powerful agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., with Hawkeye also being included in the Avengers Initiative. With the character’s mastery of his archery skills, Fury could count on Hawkeye to deliver the goods on the field.
6 Black Widow
It’s been theorized for the Black Widow movie that Nick Fury might show up, owing to his connection to Natasha. She was a touch above Hawkeye in terms of fighting skills, as seen in The Avengers, with her expertise in the field evident when she managed to best The Winter Soldier in marksmanship.
Fury also sent Black Widow to infiltrate Tony Stark’s company, which she successfully accomplished. She once again proved her loyalty and usefulness in Captain America: The Winter Soldier by taking down Alexander Pearce, making her perhaps Fury’s best all-around subordinate.
5 Phil Coulson
No one could simultaneously be as vital as an inside man and an authority figure for Nick Fury as Phil Coulson. All of the recon needed for Fury in Phase One was done by Coulson, whose decision to let Nick leave in Captain Marvel also proved essential.

4 Talos

3 Captain America
One of the most satisfying moments of the Captain America trilogy was the reveal of Nick Fury’s alive status. He had acknowledged Captain America’s loyalty in The Winter Soldier, where Rogers was the one to stop HYDRA from the killing millions it deemed a threat.
Captain America was also the one to take charge of the Avengers, which allowed Fury’s vision of the team to come true. More so than anything else, it was Captain America’s complete loyalty and faith in Nick Fury that made him a powerful ally, as he would guide the Avengers according to the instructions given to him by Fury (which was seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron).
2 Iron Man
Iron Man was the go-to person for Nick Fury in the Avengers. It was Tony whom Fury approached first, who then prevented Abomination from being part of the Avengers Initiative as per Fury’s orders. Iron Man also essentially saved S.H.I.E.L.D. by diverting the nuke away from New York and onto Loki’s forces to put an end to the invasion.
He was the point of contact for Fury in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as Fury advised Tony to band together with the Avengers once again. Overall, Tony was the most necessary cog for Fury’s Avengers Initiative to function, and he attended Tony’s funeral after his heartbreaking demise as a show of respect.
1 Captain Marvel
It’s more than likely that Nick Fury will be appearing in Captain Marvel 2 if theories are to be believed. Captain Marvel turned out to be his secret weapon all along, as she made short work of the Titan Thanos and her appearance allowed the resurrected Thanos to be beaten as well.
As far as powers go, she’s leagues ahead of the rest as she’s an indestructible force imbued with the powers of the Tesseract. Captain Marvel also proved to be a valuable ally as she helped Fury to figure out the plot against the Skrulls while being the inspiration for the Avengers Initiative. Due to this, it’s understandable why Fury saw her as his ultimate trump card.
