My Hero Academia Anime TV Show Season 4 First Look Released

The My Hero Academia anime series continues to be one of the most popular of the past few years, and the first peek at season 4 has been revealed. My Hero Academia has been going strong since its initial launch during the Spring 2016 anime season, with enthusiasm only growing for its upcoming fourth season. Audiences just can’t seem to get enough of Deku’s journey to become the greatest superhero on Earth.

My Hero Academia tells the story of Deku, a young boy without powers in a world full of people with extraordinary abilities. Deku dreams of one day becoming a professional hero and saving people like his superpowered idol, All Might, until one day he risks his life to defend one of his friends. On the brink of death, he’s saved by the colossal power of All Might. In a candid conversation following the incident, All-Might reveals that he’s been permanently crippled by his encounter with a particularly powerful villain, and decides to train Deku as his successor by giving him the awesome power of All Might. From that point, the show follows Deku’s training as he slowly learns about his new power and what it means to be a true hero.

The official My Hero Academia website rolled out a poster for season 4 featuring series protagonist Deku teaming up with the son of his mentor, the former #1 hero All Might. The poster comes with a tagline reading “I’ll become your hero!” and a release window of October 2019. Hand-in-hand with the poster came a thank you illustration of a handful of the characters from the show thus far drawn by the series’ character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi. The illustration gives a chromatic representation of characters we can expect to be major players in the coming season including the mysterious Kai Chisaki, a character only ever seen wearing a plague doctor’s mask.

The poster itself shows Deku fighting alongside one of the most talented heroes-in-training known as Lemillion. It marks the first time in the anime that we’ve seen Lemillion’s costume, as previously he fought against the entire class of 1-A in the nude thanks to his ability to slip through solid matter not extending to his clothing.

My Hero Academia continues to be one of the most popular anime series going right now. With numerous awards under its belt, winning awards for best anime of the year and the people’s choice award from IGN in 2017. From its high-quality animation to its heartfelt themes of friendship and heroism, the series seems to resonate with a lot of people. And, honestly, for those feeling a bit burnt out on superheroes, My Hero Academia feels like a great reminder about why fans love those heroes in the first place, and why that love matters.
