The Detroit Lions added several new players and positional upgrades across the roster over the draft weekend. What did the team’s divisional foes in the NFC North do with their draft picks in the 2022 NFL draft?

Chicago Bears

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Chicago didn’t have a first-round pick, but new GM Ryan Poles made up for lost time with volume. The Bears made 11 selections in the draft’s final two days.

Four of those 11 picks addressed the offensive line, all on Day 3. Prior to that, Chicago added two defensive backs who project to start right away and an NFL-ready receiver and return specialist. They also found room to snag a punter late in the draft, too.

Their draft class:

No. 39 overall – Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

48 – Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State

71 – Velus Jones, WR, Tennessee

168 – Braxton Jones, OT, Southern Utah

174 – Dominique Robinson, EDGE, Miami OH

186 – Zach Thomas, G, San Diego State

203 – Trestan Ebner, RB, Baylor

207 – Doug Kramer, C, Illinois

226 – Ja’Tyre Carter, G, Southern

254 – Elijah Hicks, S, California

255 – Trenton Gill, P, North Carolina State

Green Bay Packers

The Packers had two first-round picks and used them both on defensive starters from Georgia. They spent two of the next three picks hoping to replace Davante Adams before getting busy building depth with four picks in the seventh round. All three offensive linemen they selected can play multiple positions.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota got busy on the trade market. New GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah pulled off two big trades within the division. After making the deal that allowed the Lions to rise up and snag WR Jameson Williams, the Vikings also traded one of the picks from that deal to Green Bay as part of another intradivisional swap. Five of Minnesota’s first six picks were on defense.

No. 32 overall – Lewis Cine, S, Georgia

42 – Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson

59 – Ed Ingram, G, LSU

66 – Brian Asamoah, LB, Oklahoma

118 – Akayleb Evans, CB, Missouri
