PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

The story of Pretty Little Liars was about five best friends: Alison DiLaurentis, Spencer Hastings, Hanna Marin, Emily Fields, and Aria Montgomery. Each of these girls had strengths, weaknesses, interests, dislikes, and traits such as the following, which were Aria’s five best and five worst.

Her talents, her choices, her outfits, her relationships, her moods… All of this and more helped make up this unique and intriguing character. She had her flaws, as everyone does, but overall, she was a kind, artistic, spunky and loyal young woman, friend, and wife, who made up a large and fabulous chunk of PLL.

10 Best: She Was Creative

A vital part of Aria was her creativity. She took art classes. She enjoyed photography. She was always writing. She dressed and decorated her room in an artistic way.

She even went on to put these passions to good use, as she ended up working for a book publisher and co-authoring a book with Ezra.

9 Worst: She Could Get Swept Up In Daydreams, Not Focusing On The Present

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

It is common for artsy types to get swept up in daydreams; since they are taking pictures of, reading about, and painting other worlds, these ideal places may start to sound better than home… especially if home is Rosewood.

Furthermore, Aria moved away to Iceland, where she didn’t have to think about Ali’s disappearance and where her parents seemed happier. Returning to her old stomping ground wasn’t easy, and there were many times when she wished she could run away from it all.

8 Best: She Was Bold

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

From the way she dressed to how outspoken she could be, Aria was bold. Perhaps because of her interest in art, she had no problem expressing herself, even in tough and stressful situations. She was also raised by expressive parents, where the entire family was encouraged to talk things out and be themselves.

7 Worst: She Could Be Impulsive

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

At times, her boldness went too far, and she acted out in impulsive ways. Some examples include her relationship with Ezra, the way she snapped at people who she was upset, and how she handled some of the most challenging parts of the A game.

While this was a flaw, it was certainly an understandable one; she was in love, she wanted to be heard/make her point, and she was in danger for a good portion of her life!

6 Best: She Was Passionate

Along the same lines, Aria was a passionate person. It came through in her fashion choices and her art forms. It was evident by how much she cared for her loved ones.

It was clear, just looking at her emotions, ranging from happy tears to sad ones. And it was made very known in her journey with Ezra.

5 Worst: She Could Be Too Fiery

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

Too much passion can come across in a negative way. For instance, Aria wanted to win the A game and keep her secrets, so she joined the enemy and committed acts such as trashing Ali and Emily’s nursery.

Similarly, she found out her dad was having an affair, so she trashed his office. Again, it made some sense, but she took the feelings too far at times!

4 Best: She Was Warmhearted

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

All of the girls put their love for friends and family on display in special ways, and Aria was one of the most warmhearted characters on the show. Part of that was because of her artistic ways.

A good portion of it came from how she was raised. And it just made sense for her to be nice, to share a warm smile, and to prove loyalty over and over.

3 Worst: She Could Hold Grudges

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

When someone was not loyal in return, as fans know and as mentioned, Aria could retaliate in a sort of scary way. She could also hold grudges. She took the hurt and pain personally, and it took her quite some time to forgive.

Two good instances included how she was with Byron after the Meredith incident and how she was with Ezra after she found out about his book.

2 Best: She Was Big (& Little!)

PLL Aria’s 5 Best & 5 Worst Traits

A very memorable line from this show that was about Aria came from Spencer; she said she was little (since actress Lucy Hale is 5’2”) but that she was big, since Aria, as has been said over and over, was a brave and bold girl.

Physically, mentally and emotionally, she made sacrifices and met danger head-on, all in order to protect her friends and help save the day!

1 Worst: She Could Be Selfish

Of course, throughout the story, all of the main characters were put in dangerous situations and sacrificed themselves to try and defeat A. And at times, selfish decisions were made.

During the last season, when the girls were playing the board game, Aria took matters into her own hands, hid even more secrets from her BFFs, and joined forces with A. She felt horrible, the truth eventually came out, and her pals forgave her… just as they all did for one another, every time.
