Pokémon GO May 2021 What Legendary Pokémon Will Appear More Often

The month of May holds many exciting events for Pokémon GO fans. Two Legendary Pokémon will debut in the mobile game, and their release will include additional Pokémon species not yet seen in Pokémon GO. Developer Niantic has also confirmed May Community Day for the 15th between 11AM and 5PM. The new Legendary Pokémon and events are the perfect way for Pokémon GO fans to kick off the summer season.

Pokémon GO’s Team GO Rocket will feature Shadow Moltres during the month of May as its Legendary captive. To rescue the Legendary Bird, players will need to complete the Team GO Rocket Field Research, “The Higher They Fly,” and obtain a Super Rocket Radar to track down Giovanni. It will also be possible to receive the Super Rocket Radar during the Luminous Legends X event during a timed research project. This will give players several chances to catch Shadow Moltres.

The Luminous Legends X event will begin May 4th and finish on May 17th. During this time, players will be able to encounter the Legendary Fairy-type Pokémon Xerneas in 5-star raid battles. The event will also boost the spawn rate of Fairy and Dragon-types. Three Kalos Pokémon will make their debut in Pokémon GO alongside Xerneas, including Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy. The Luminous Legends Y event will start on May 18th and end on May 31st. During this time, players can encounter the Kalos Legendary Pokémon Yvetal, and will see a boost in the number of Dark-type Pokémon in the wild.

Pokémon GO’s Luminous Legends Events Will Affect 7KM Eggs

According to Niantic, 7KM eggs will be affected by the Luminous Legends X event. Players will be able to hatch Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, Gible, Swirlix, and Spritzee during the event. Pokémon GO raids will also be affected, with Dragon, Psychic, and Fairy-type Pokémon appearing more frequently. This will include Pokémon like Galarian Ponyta and Alolan Exeggutor among other Pokémon species. It isn’t currently known what the Luminous Legends Y event will include for raids and 7KM eggs, though more information will likely be released in the coming weeks.

A new Pokémon GO lure will also be introduced during the Luminous Legends X event. The Rainy Lure will attract Water, Bug, and Electric-type Pokémon when set at a Pokéstop. It can also be used to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra. This is exciting news for Pokémon GO players hoping to find specific Pokémon species, and could potentially aid in completing Field Research requirements while enjoying the many different events during the month of May.
