One of the core selling points for Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu on the Nintendo Switch is the ability for the games to connect to the incredibly popular mobile game, Pokemon GO. While the premise appears simple enough, it can be a little tricky figuring out how to initiate the process of transferring over creatures caught within the mobile title. The ability to transfer Pocket Monsters has proven to be especially important as a result of the various version-exclusive Pokemon in Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu, as Pokemon GO features all of those creatures without exception. So, having the two linked together is required for anyone aspiring to complete the Pokedex without having to invest in both Switch titles.

There is a two-part process for transferring Pokemon over. However, once players have paired their devices and progressed far enough into the story, they’ll be able to ship their favorite teammates from Pokemon GO over to Let’s Go with little hassle. Keeping that in mind, the first step is pairing the mobile game with its Nintendo Switch counterpart:
- Boot up both Pokemon GO on a mobile device and Pokemon Let’s Go on the Nintendo Switch.
- Open ‘Settings’ within the Pokemon GO app, select ‘Nintendo Switch’, and then select the ‘Pair Nintendo Switch’ option in order to begin the process.
- Jump over to Pokemon Let’s Go on the Switch console, open up the ‘Settings’ tab, click on ‘Open Pokémon GO Settings’, and then opt to pair with the opened Pokemon GO account.
Voila! The games should be paired now, which allows players to now focus on transferring over their beloved Pokemon. Keeping in mind that this is a one-way trip for any monster being sent over to the Switch title – albeit a necessary one for anyone that wants Meltan in Pokemon Let’s Go – here’s how to begin the transfer process:
- Players must ensure that they’ve reach Fuschia City before they’re able to transfer Pokemon over from Pokemon GO. If they haven’t then they’ll need to reach that point in the game.
- Provided players can access Fuschia City and the above series of game-pairing tasks has been accomplished, they should go to the ‘GO Park Complex’ there and speak with the attendant. This will then allow them to select the ‘Bring Pokémon’ option to begin the process.
- Jumping over to Pokemon GO, players need only tap the ‘Pokemon’ option and then the ‘Nintendo Switch’ option at the top-right of the screen.
- From here it’s as simple as selecting the Pokemon players want to transfer.
At this point, players will be able to capture the beasts they ship over to the Switch game. That process is a little more straightforward, as the Pokemon will visibly appear in a field as they wait to be added to the aspiring Pokemon Master’s collection. A brief encounter and a thrown Pokeball is all it takes to complete that process.
Keep in mind that only Pokemon originally found in Kanto (as well as Meltan and Melmetal) can make the jump to Let’s Go. While that may change in the future, it’s still great to see the mobile creatures in a higher resolution thanks to the power of the Nintendo Switch.
