Power Book II Ghost Main Characters Ranked By Likability

What Power Book II: Ghost set out to do in season one was to make an introduction to their cast of characters. But how would returning viewers feel regarding a show centered around young Tariq St. Patrick and others different than Ghost, Tommy, and Angela? Well, the masses have spoken and viewers now have a brand new set of characters they either hate or love from the Power spinoff.

Is Tariq still the most hated of the bunch? Has Monet taken over as the new boss lady? What about the brother and sister trio of Cane, Drew, and Diana? Did Tasha do enough in the spinoff to gain fans? Who would fans say would finish top on the likability scale?

11 Jabari Reynolds

Power Book II Ghost Main Characters Ranked By Likability

They are certain characters whose storyline should have been left on the cutting room floor. Jabari’s character made sense with the sequel taking place on a college campus but the writers did a terrible job portraying him. Was he there to teach, spy, or sleep with students? Viewers waited for his demise as Jabari was never the one to be trusted.

He did a lot of lying and stealing to make it as far as he could in season one. His death was well deserved and although he didn’t die due to his sneaky actions, he died because his curiosity got the best of him. He should have minded his own business.

10 Caridad “Carrie” Milgram

One has to come before the other and Jabari is far worse than Carrie. Jabari is a thief and a liar while Carrie just appears to be lost. She’s an advisor but actually advises no one. Her character is not taken seriously in Power Book II and for good reason.

The writers never gave her a strong backstory that holds any weight. At the start of the show, she was righteous and wanted to help students. However, by the end of the season, she was sleeping with Zeke and helping him lie to the cops and his family. What’s her play here?

9 Tasha St. Patrick

Why is the question when speaking of Tasha? Why is she still alive and why is Tariq acting as if his mother is a Saint? Tasha is bad news in every sense of the word. By the end of the original series, she became one of the most hated characters. Even in prison during the spinoff, viewers still didn’t feel connected to her.

This season, she was trying to protect her son but in the process put a larger target on his head. Tasha cannot be trusted and there may come a time when Tariq realizes that.

8 Davis Maclean

Davis and Saxe do make the perfect team. Saxe is dirty while Davis is all about the money. Davis came in as Tasha’s lawyer and while he figured she was lying all long and turned his eyes away from the truth. A married man, who is sleeping with his employee, Davis is a real jerk.

On the law side of things, he’s a great lawyer. He cares about his clients but to a certain degree. He wants money and as long as he gets that, they will have his full attention. Is Davis the new version of Joe Proctor?

7 Lauren Baldwin

Is Lauren the new Angela? She does fit the mold that Angela portrayed in the original series. She’s smart, ambitious, and has a thing for Tariq. But does she fit in his world? This is what Ghost went through with Angela. While there may be a slight competition between the two in the classroom, there is still chemistry.

Lauren is what many will describe as ‘snobbish.’ She comes from money and her parents look down on Tariq. Lauren ended her long-lasting relationship once she realized her feelings for Tariq. Season 2 should shed more light on Lauren’s character.

6 Cooper Saxe

Even in the original series, Saxe was not well-liked. Not much has changed in the spinoff. Saxe is about himself and the sad part is, he doesn’t have to be if he could just do his job the proper way. He’s involved in too much shady business to fly straight.

In Power Book II: Ghost, Saxe is still conniving to get his way. Although he somehow keeps managing to survive, the time is coming for Saxe to pay the ultimate price. He’s one of the characters who has way more than nine lives.

5 Dru Tejada

Some people are built for a life of crime and others aren’t. For Dru, he was thrust into it just because of his last name. Dru never felt comfortable but he did what he had to do and what he was told to do. Dru lived a different lifestyle and was forced to hide that. However, towards the end of season one, Dru began to take more command of situations surrounding him.

While not as violent as Cane, Dru was the one Monet could count on and the one his father actually wanted to take over the family business. He’s more trustworthy than Cane and uses his brain to make calculated moves.

4 Diana Tejada

Diana at times is hard to read. She looks up to her mother but at times appears to be very cautious of Monet’s ways and advice. Is she interested in Tariq or just using him as Monet instructed? Diana is not like her mother. Monet sees money where Diana just wants to be a normal teenage girl at times.

There is no mention of school for Diana, which has led fans to wonder what does she do when she’s not chasing after Tariq, covering for her brothers, or led astray by her mother? There has to be more to Diana than what viewers saw in season one.

3 Tariq St. Patrick

Power Book II Ghost Main Characters Ranked By Likability

No one wanted to see a show centered around the young Tariq St. Patrick. If Tasha was hated, Tariq ended the original series as public enemy No.1. The young kid was a walking book of lies and decided then ended it all by killing his own father.

But then, Power Book II: Ghost debuted, and the same fans who wished hateful things on Tariq, have now become fans of his. His movements mirror those of his dad and it wasn’t until the end of season one where he finally acknowledged the similarities between the two.

2 Cane Tejada

Power Book II Ghost Main Characters Ranked By Likability

Cane is a unique character. He’s the muscle of the Tejada family while his father is in prison but Cane is a lot more open and emotional too. Instead of thinking, Cane reacts, much like Leon from Snowfall. While that’s what Monet raised him to do, it came back to bite her. For most, Cane is a lot like Kanan who wreaked havoc in the original Power series.

Cane was ousted from the family but still searched for ways to get back in. He and Tariq could have found a way to see eye-to-eye but Cane was so hell-bent on hating Tariq, he didn’t think of how dangerous they could be as a family if he just accepted him.

1 Monet Tejada

Monet is not to be played with. She takes no shortcuts in business and takes no disrespect from anyone including her own family. Monet is about her money and she’s not afraid to let anyone know this. If she can find a way to get the upper hand on you, best believe she will take that route.

Her obligation to Tariq is strictly business. While it may appear to be otherwise to her son Cane, Monet sees the bigger picture much how Avon Barksdale oversaw things in The Wire. She can be the sweet aunt but in a quick second can easily turn into the ruthless character fans have come to love.
