Raised By Wolves Trailer Imagines Humans And Androids At Odds

The trailer for HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves shows humans and androids at tense odds. Ridley Scott, who’s no stranger to science fiction, is an executive producer. Scott’s past films include Blade Runner, Exodus: Gods and Kings, and The Martian. However, Raised By Wolves sees Scott directing television instead of just producing for the first time in decades.

YouTube channel JoBlo Movie Trailers shared the new Raised by Wolves trailer. The preview features two androids, Mother and Father, with human children of their own after religion and “belief in the unreal” allegedly led to the demise of planet Earth. The androids are played by Amanda Collin and Abubakar Salim. Travis Fimmel, who previously starred in Vikings, stars as Marcus, a human determined to take the children as he and other humans believe children being raised by androids is a sin.

Raised by Wolves, which is set to premiere September 3, is part of the original content HBO Max has been rolling out since its launch at the end of May 2020. Earlier this year, they announced that they plan to release about 50 of their own projects between this year and 2021. However, it’s questionable if they’ll be able to follow through given that the COVID-19 pandemic is still interfering with production for many shows and movies. Fortunately, Raised by Wolves was unaffected by the health crisis, giving the streaming service an intriguing sci-fi show to offer subscribers.

The synopsis reads: Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.
