After months of guessing and coyness from PlayStation, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s female Lombax has finally had her (very fitting) name revealed.

The latest gameplay trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has finally revealed the name of its mysterious female Lombax. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is set to release this summer and will continue on with the adventures of charming Lombax Ratchet and his exiled warbot companion Clank, as they traverse through time and space to defeat a villainous emperor. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will join the privileged list of PlayStation 5 exclusives when it launches this June. The faces of the series’ heroes have been gracing billboards (and even London Underground stations) to promote their latest game for several months now, further enhancing fans’ excitement for this next installment.

Insomniac Games has assured fans of the series that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will make full use of the latest Sony tech on its release, with the DuelSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers being expertly utilized during gameplay. This will include diversifying the feelings of the many different weapons throughout the game. But while all of the news surrounding the console’s technological reactions to the game is certainly an exciting prospect for those lucky Ratchet and Clank fans in possession of the coveted PlayStation 5, there is one specific question that has been on everyone’s lips, regardless of console ownership. Ever since her Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart video debut, people have been asking – just who is that female Lombax?

After months of guessing from fans and coy evasiveness from developers, PlayStation has finally revealed the name of this enigmatic character. In the most recent trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, PlayStation confirmed that her name is… Rivet. In the latest teaser for the game, Rivet can be seen finding Clank after he has been shifted to a new dimension through a portal created by the shady Nefarious. Soon the duo is swooping through worlds, as a solo Ratchet searches for his lost friend (after discovering some sort of Wanted poster featuring Rivet herself). The trailer goes on to show off some of Rivet’s own skills and gameplay mechanics. She is shown to be a sprightly fighter, wielding both blasters and her already iconic hammer tool to evade enemies. As with previous Ratchet & Clank games, Rift Apart is already looking set to be a colorful and chaotic romp through a collection of outlandish settings. The PlayStation 5 graphics have been shown off beautifully in each trailer so far. Insomniac Games’ previous installment to the Ratchet & Clank series has also been confirmed to be receiving its own PS5 upgrade patch.

Sony still has more PlayStation 5 exclusives slated for a 2021 release. However, unlike Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, some have yet to secure a solid release date. Many are now wondering if titles such as Horizon Forbidden West may actually be pushed in 2022. If this does happen to be the case, the launch of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart may well be one of the last PS5 exclusive titles to release this year.
