Rocket League How To Combine (& Trade) Blueprints

When Rocket League went free-to-play it introduced a new blueprint market which allowed players to purchase specific cosmetics for a cheaper price than they could in the in-game store. This also allowed players to purchase a specific cosmetic whenever they wanted as long as they had obtained the blueprint. Some blueprints are more valuable than others, and lower-tier blueprints can be traded and combined to make higher-level blueprints.

However, not everyone was excited about the new blueprint market. Instead of outright unlocking cosmetics, players would now unlock a schematic they would have to use real money to purchase in order to get a cosmetic item. There are still ways to obtain free cosmetic items in Rocket League, but it isn’t nearly as frequent as it once was. Regardless, blueprints allow players to purchase rare items at a discounted price if they are able to find the right one. Players can put their useless blueprints to use by combining them and making even better blueprints.

How to Combine/Trade-In Blueprints In Rocket League

The more players play the more they will accumulate blueprints. Over time, players will build up a hearty supply of blueprints, the majority of which they won’t redeem. Players can even obtain multiple of the same blueprint rendering them useless as it wouldn’t make sense to redeem more than one. However, Rocket League has put a system in place to help players relieve some of the burdens of storing so many blueprints. Players can trade in five of the same rarity blueprint in exchange for one random blueprint of the next tier rarity. The transaction rate looks something like this.

The trade-in menu can be accessed from the blueprint storage screen by right-clicking on a blueprint the player wants to trade-in. The highest rarity (and coolest cosmetics) are Black Market Blueprints. However, these are also the most expensive blueprints to redeem. A single Black Market Blueprint costs 2,000 credits to redeem. Credits can be accumulated for free over time as part of the battle pass, but it’s much faster and easier to buy them with real money. Regardless, players now have a use for the dozens of rare blueprints they will accumulate every play session.
