Sarah Jessica Parker wrote a heartfelt tribute for her late Sex and the City co-star Willie Garson. Garson passed away at the age of 57 on Tuesday September 21. It was later confirmed that the actor’s death came after his short battle with pancreatic cancer. A prolific actor, Garson has starred in a number of movies and TV shows such as Little Manhattan, White Collar, and the Hawaii Five-o reboot. He was best known for his role as Stanford Blatch, Carrie Bradshaw’s flamboyant best friend in HBO’s Sex and the City.

Garson has been part of the hit series since its first season in 1998 and reprised his role in the subsequent films. Earlier this year, he happily reunited with Parker and his SATC co-stars to work on And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City revival to be released on HBO Max. The actor was often snapped on the set of the show and he even posted behind-the-scenes images on social media. Prior to his death, Garson had finished filming all his scenes for the upcoming series.

It took Parker a few days to express her grief over Garson’s passing. In a new Instagram post, the 56-year-old actress shared images showing their 30+ years of friendship. Some of the photos were stills taken from Sex and the City episodes, while others were candid moments from their private moments and trips over the years. “It’s been unbearable,” the actress wrote in her emotional tribute to late friend and co-star. Parker explained that her silence “is a statement” of how deeply saddened she is to lose a real friend. “Willie. I will miss everything about you. And replay our last moments together,” Parker continued. Check out her touching post below:

Early this week, Parker commented on Chris Noth’s IG post showing a picture of her and Garson laughing on the set of Sex and the City. The actress said that she wasn’t ready to comment on the late actor’s sudden passing. Meanwhile, her original SATC co-stars Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and even Kim Cattrall, who is not part of the revival series, have all extended their condolences and posted sincere tributes for Garson.

Garson’s vibrant portrayal of Stanford Blatch has surely left an impact on many Sex and the City fans. His final appearance on And Just Like That… will certainly be more meaningful as it is also the actor’s last on-screen work. As Parker’s tribute reveals, Garson’s death is a huge blow for the entire SATC production. His presence will surely be missed just as the cast wraps up filming and gears up to promote the highly-anticipated series.
