Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is well known for its quirky characters and unique style, and Ramona Flowers and Envy Adams stand out from the crowd. While Ramona is Scott Pilgrims’ love interest and Envy is his very own evil ex, the two are charismatic and have some of the best moments in the whole film.

It’s been 10 years since Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was released in cinemas, and it still acts like a cult classic for both fans of the movie and fans of the graphic novel from which it originated.

10 Ramona: She’s Mysterious

Ramona Flowers is absolutely a woman of mystery. She appears out of nowhere in Scott’s life and rollerskates through his dreams, with almost no explanation as to how she can do that.

The fact that she remains such a mystery is one of her best qualities and it’s probably why Scott finds her so interesting in the first place.

9 Envy: She’s A Badass

Envy Adams is one of the coolest characters in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. She may have broken Scott’s heart, but she joined a trendy band and she has amazing outfits and a badass attitude that would leave anyone wanting to be like her.

People seem to either be in awe of her or terrified of her like Scott, and that’s definitely not a bad personality trait to have when you’re trying to appear like an unbreakable rockstar.

8 Ramona: She Constantly Changes Her Hair

Ramona is known for changing up her look, and she constantly changes her hair color. In one scene its pink, in the next its blue, and then in the next it’s green. It’s a cool quirk that her character has that also translated really well from book to screen.

Her constant change in like might be exactly why she has a mysterious aura around her, and it’s what leads Knives Chau to dye her hair blue.

7 Envy: Her Band Is Great

Envy is the lead singer of a successful band called The Clash At Demonhead along with her boyfriend Todd who also happens to be one of Ramona’s exes. Her band is referenced a lot throughout the film and we only find out she’s the lead singer later on.

They perform a gig with Scott and Ramona there, and Envy has an amazing stage presence and their music is really great. They all meet backstage, where Todd is defeated by Scott and Envy rethinks her attitude to life.

6 Ramona: She Cares About Scott

It’s clear that even though she doesn’t seem that interested in Scott at the start, she starts to care about him once she realizes that he’s actually willing to fight all of her evil exes in order to be with her.

They go through a lot together and they both suit each other’s strange personalities, so it’s no wonder they’re attracted to each other. In the end, she cares a lot more about him than her other relationships.

5 Envy: Her Backstory

Envy Adams wasn’t always a mean and over-confident rockstar. Before that, she was a nice, quiet girl who brutally dumped Scott.

Scott himself is surprised by how much she’s changed, but honestly, it’s really cool that she transformed herself into a badass musical superstar and really came into her own.

4 Ramona: She’s An Even Bigger Badass

Ramona is such a cool character when it comes to dealing with her exes, but she’s also awesome in the fight scenes.

At the end of the movie, she has to fight one of Scott’s exes, Knives Chau, and it’s very fun to watch. She doesn’t need help from anyone when it comes to defending herself and that’s an admirable quality to have.

3 Envy: She’s Successful

While she might not be a very nice person, Envy Adams is pretty successful. She’s a successful singer and a successful woman who is clearly very confident with herself. She knows how cool she is and she uses that confidence to her advantage when she performs.

Her success is what ends up bringing her and Scott together in the film, and while he keeps trying to ignore her existence, Envy is out there living her best life.

2 Ramona: She’s Clearly Not Afraid Of Anything

Another way that Ramona is the best character is because she doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything. To have several evil exes probably means that Ramona isn’t phased by a lot of things in life.

It would explain why she’s sort of nonchalant about explaining her ex relationships to Scott, and why she seems unbothered by pretty much everything that happens unless it’s really serious.

1 Envy: She’s Funny

Envy Adams has some genuinely funny lines in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Brie Larson’s delivery of those lines makes her character even better.

Her first interaction with Scott in the film is both hilarious and intimidating and she has an energy about her that is hard not to love.
