Scrubs is an excellent show that remained popular even after its initial run. Here are the best, but also the worst, episodes of Season 9 per IMDb.

For all intents and purposes to the Scrubs fandom, season eight is the last season of the main show, but that does not mean season nine does not exist. It was initially conceived as a spin-off and pretty much plays like one for most of the season, but that did nothing to aid its quality.
It had heaps of potential and could have really been great, but a combination of getting marketed as being Scrubs, holding onto the greatness of Scrubs, and trying to live up to those main eight seasons while being of overall lower quality doomed it completely. Even the best episodes do not live up to the first eight season’s bad episodes.
10 Best – “Our Stuff Gets Real” (6.5)
The fact that the highest-rated episode of season nine is rated far lower than every single episode from the first eight seasons, with one exception, tells a lot about its popularity with fans.
“Our Stuff Gets Real” is likely rated higher than the other half of the season because of the J.D. Elliot storyline where they come to terms stuff will change when the baby comes, and so they have a babymoon. Also, Cox gets forced to write a will, and Ben must dissect Ben’s heart.
9 Worst – “Our New Girl-Bro” (6.1)
“Our New Girl-Bro” sees Turk upset that, once again, J.D. has left, and so attempts to find a new work bro, which he seems to find in Denise.
Lucy also finds somebody in the form of Elliot, whom she looks up to as an inspiration and learns a lot from her, especially after Elliot appears to disappoint her. On the side, Cole gets tricked into believing he is last, and then subsequently top of the class.
8 Best – “Our Role Models” (6.5)
“Our Role Models” is an episode in which the title is the clear theme throughout, with established doctors getting looked up to and helping the med students.
Lucy shadows Denise after some resistance, leading to Denise having to face her fear of emotion, and after he flips out and loses his patience at a code, Drew has lost all interest from Dr. Cox until Turk and J.D. step in.
7 Worst – “Our Thanks” (6.1)
“Our Thanks” is the finale of season nine and pales in comparison to the brilliance of “My Finale” from season eight, which fans still see as the true ending.
It sees the build-up to a ceremony where med students thank the family of their cadavers with Lucy learning Ben was not as good as she thought. It also has Cole deciding to become a surgeon and shadowing Turk with much resistance while Denise and Drew try living together.
6 Best – “Our Histories” (6.6)
“Our Histories” is the final appearance of the late great Sam Lloyd as Ted as he and Gooch set off to travel with Kelso giving them a personal goodbye.
It also has J.D. and Turk face their age as they go on a night out in costume, and realize that Dr. Cox is right and that they are getting old. As for the med students, they get kept from going out to a party until they show teamwork and complete every interview with their given patient.
5 Worst – “Our Driving Issues” (6.0)
“Our Driving Issues” actually has some relatively decent content in the form of Dr. Cox and Dr. Kelso’s relationship after Kelso gets his license revoked.
Alongside that, Cole gets diagnosed with skin cancer, but luckily gets surgery to remove the mole he has. However, when nobody shows up for his operation, Cole learns from Kelso that a big ego can get in the way.
4 Best – “Our Drunk Friend” (6.6)
“Our Drunk Friend” is the second episode of the season, and so is a point where the season could have still gotten saved but just continues a downward spiral.
The episode sees Lucy become another young ‘doctor’ lured into a false sense of hope due to her kindness and believes in a patient, Alan, that he will kick his alcohol addiction, only to get disappointed, akin to when everybody encounters Sam in the main show. Meanwhile, Turk and J.D. play matchmaker for Drew and Denise.
3 Worst – “Our Dear Leaders” (5.9)
As the season winds down to its disappointing end, the third to last episode “Our Dear Leaders” presents another disappointing entry to the season.
Drew leaves the role of study group leader at the order of Dr. Cox, and Lucy takes up the role, leading to a lot of angry fighting and annoying moments. The episode also has Drew and Denise avoid each other after saying, “I love you” to one another, and Turk gets jealous of an internationally renowned surgeon.
2 Best – “Our First Day Of School” (6.6)
The pilot of the season had a lot of potential, but it not being a spin-off like everybody wanted already doomed the season right from the start.
The fact that the first episode got the top spot of season nine does not say much, but all in all, there were definitely worse episodes in the season, and it was a decent enough introduction to the new characters. But with the new hospital, half of the cast, and overall lower quality TV, it still lacked.
1 Worst – “Our Couples” (5.9)
Getting bottom spot, separated from other 5.9 ratings by the number of reviews, is “Our Couples,” an episode that, while important to some characters, was just not good.
Lucy must overcome her embarrassment of Cole, and both realize and be proud of the fact that they genuinely like each other, all while Denise and Drew have a big team-up prank on the security guards. It is the joint-second lowest-rated episode of Scrubs, second only to the universally despised clip show.
