Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn is opening up about her difficult experience with postpartum depression and PTSD following the birth of her son. Christine has been a notably controversial figure on the show and has even gone so far as to embrace her role as a villain of the reality series. More recently, fans have had their thoughts about her challenged as she appeared more vulnerable at times during season 4. Now, she is being more candid than she ever has before as she explains how the birth of her son had an impact on her health.

At the forefront of several dramatic plotlines on Selling Sunset, Christine has become a messy fan favorite over the past few seasons. Recently, costar Chrishell Strause revealed that she almost took Christine to court in regards to a claim she made about Chrishell. Christine had her first son in May of 2021 and had to have an emergency C-Section.

Now, Christine reveals that the procedure was traumatic to a degree that caused a lasting impact. Christine tells ET Canada that the experience is part of the reason for some of her behavior on Selling Sunset saying, “I was pregnant on top of dealing with postpartum depression… this season was really difficult for me.” Christine says that she worked hard to maintain her mental health under the circumstances, and explains that she is “still dealing with” the emotions of that experience currently.

Christine has been the victim of surrogacy rumors due to her appearance on Selling Sunset following the birth of her first child. It is unfortunate that despite explaining her situation to producers, her emotional state seems to have been manipulated in order to maintain her status as a villain. While she has previously said she embraces the title, it doesn’t seem fair that her mental health and journey as a new mother have caused her to receive backlash following her traumatic experience.
