A new Spider-Man: No Way Home promo video reveals Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) taunting Peter Parker (Tom Holland). With mere days before the new Spider-Man threequel hits theaters, the anticipation for the upcoming Jon Watts-directed film is at an all-time high. But, Marvel Studios and Sony are still trying to hype up the film with the continued releases of various marketing material for it, showing brief moments of brand new footage.

Green Goblin is among the villains from previous Spider-Man franchises who return for the upcoming MCU film. Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up after the ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home, when Peter’s secret superhero identity was revealed by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) through a video that was broadcast by The Daily Bugle. Aside from his personal woes, however, the wall-crawler will also have to team up with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) as Earth is exposed to various multiversal threats, after the sorcerer casts a spell gone wrong. Alongside Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Alfred Molina’s Dock and Jamie Foxx’s Electro have been prominently featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home’s marketing as primary villains in the film.

In the latest Spider-Man: No Way Home promotional video, an unmasked Green Goblin taunts an emotional and bruised Peter. Norman Osborn ominously tells Spider-Man that “no deed goes unpunished.” Around this new moment, the clip cuts to a montage of various action sequences in the movie, including MJ in a seemingly fatal fall. Spider-Man: No Way Home’s marketing has spotlighted a few of the movie’s fight scenes. There’s Peter’s initial encounter with Doc Ock on a city bridge, as well as what is likely its final battle — the action sequence set in the Statue of Liberty. However, there also seems to be a smaller fight scene between Peter and Green Goblin. This sequence appears to be in the same venue that Aunt May’s (Marisa Tomei) charity event is taking place, which is featured in the aforementioned clip. Unlike the other action set pieces in the film, not much has been revealed about this particular moment, but it’s confirmed that both May and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) make an appearance. Given Peter’s bruised appearance, it seems like the tussle between him and Green Goblin will get quite intense.

Based on what’s been shown about this sequence, there are plenty of theories online that this is where May meets her end. There’s a moment where Peter attempts to catch Green Goblin’s Pumpkin Bomb to prevent it from exploding. It’s uncertain if he’s able to successfully stop it from detonating, but some have posited that May could be one of the casualties of Osborn’s attack. Combined with footage of MJ in peril, it’s possible that Spider-Man: No Way Home is shaping up to be an emotionally intense outing for Holland’s Peter Parker. Luckily, the public won’t have to wait too long to find out, with Spider-Man: No Way Home hitting theaters later this week.
