Stephen Oyoung, a voice actor from Marvel’s Spider-Man, wants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Oyoung announced his intention on Twitter, saying, “Because I got to let Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures and the Twitter-verse know what kinda trouble I get up to. (There’s also a celebrity cameo!) Making my case!” He included a demo reel of his prior work, scored by “Home Sweet Home” by Mötley Crüe. The reel features clips of Oyoung serving as an actor, motion-capture performer and fight coordinator for projects like Star Wars: The Old Republic, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, a Volkswagen commercial featuring George Clooney and the PlayStation 4 game Marvel’s Spider-Man.

In Spider-Man, Oyoung played Martin Li, a philanthropist and founder of the F.E.A.S.T. homeless shelters who is secretly Mister Negative, the superpowered leader of the Inner Demons gang. Oyoung implied he’d be interested in reprising the role in a live-action setting, saying in a subsequent tweet, “Yes, I am seeing more and more rumors about Spider-Man 4 online. All I have to say is, Sony it’s ok if you lost my phone number. DM me.” Spider-Man: No Way Home established that F.E.A.S.T. exists in the MCU and that May Parker was one of its employees, opening the door for Li to become a part of the story in a future project.

After the release of No Way Home, both Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal were quick to clarify that both studios are actively developing the web-slinger’s future in the MCU. Tom Holland, who stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, has reportedly signed on for a fourth Spider-Man film in the franchise, and he’ll certainly need a new villain to face.

Developed by Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Spider-Man was released on PlayStation 4 in 2018. The game received praise for its narrative, combat system and web-slinging mechanics and has since been regarded as one of the best superhero games of all time. A spin-off centering on Miles Morales’s adventures as Spider-Man came out in 2020 to further acclaim. Insomniac is currently developing a sequel, which will purportedly have a darker tone than the previous games and feature Kraven the Hunter and Venom as its primary villains. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release sometime in 2023.
