Stardew Valley Has Been Hiding A Secret Alien For Years

The world of Stardew Valley holds a lot of secrets for players to discover, and they actually begin appearing before people even have a chance to start a new game. In fact, there’s a secret alien hiding in Stardew Valley’s title screen, and he’s been watching players silently for over four years now.

Recently, Stardew Valley received a massive update which included a lot of new content for players to enjoy. In addition to a new location for Stardew Valley farms (the Beach) and a plethora of new items and enemies, the game now also allows players to randomize and adjust certain settings. This function, called the Stardew Valley Remix feature, is fantastic for players who have spent hundreds of hours with the game already and are looking for a new challenge.

Even with all the new content which was recently injected into Stardew Valley, the main draw is still the gameplay loop of farming, crafting, and befriending townspeople which made it such a popular title in the first place. There are all sorts of NPCs players can befriend, romance, and even marry in Stardew Valley, and all of them have their own specific quirks, personalities, likes, and dislikes. One NPC in Stardew Valley, however, is much more mysterious than others.

Where Stardew Valley’s Secret Alien Is

On the title screen for Stardew Valley, before players select between loading a previous save or starting a new Stardew game, there is a secret, hidden alien. The alien can be located by putting the mouse cursor over the letter “E” in Stardew Valley (that’s the “E” from Stardew, not the “E” from Valley) and clicking the letter ten times in a row.

Once players have done this, the letter “E” will swing open as if it is attached to the logo on hinges, and an alien will be standing behind it. The alien is holding up two peace signs and bouncing up and down slightly, and as soon as players have a chance to get a good look at it the figure begins to slowly disappear. A few seconds after that, the alien is gone for good – until Stardew Valley players return to the title screen, that is.

Little touches and silly easter eggs like hiding an alien in Stardew Valley’s title screen is one of the reasons why so many people grew attached to the game in the first place. Despite it having released over four years ago, Stardew Valley is still an incredibly popular and fun game to enjoy, whether players are engaging in split-screen multiplayer with friends or working long into the night on their farms alone. Just know that somewhere, up above the starry sky and past Stardew Valley’s horizon, aliens are likely watching.
