Stardew Valley has been one of the best “feel good” games to release in the last few years. In this title, the main character receives a letter from their grandfather who tasks him with only opening the letter if the player is in a position where they need change. After living their life working at a redundant job that is going nowhere, the player decides to open the letter and to their surprise, find that it’s a deed to a farm. The player then uproots their entire life and moves out to Stardew Valley to begin a new life and to restore the farm back to its former glory. A big part of the game is making as many friends as possible with the residents of Pelican Town. Now, the new Ginger Island offers the player the chance to make even more friends. Here’s how players can get there.
How To Get To Ginger Island in Stardew Valley
After installing update version 1.5, the player will have to help Willy the Fishermen repair his boat. The player will receive a letter from Willy asking for help and to pay him a visit. Head down to the fishing shop down by the docks to the south of Pelican Town and enter the backroom of the fishing shop. To repair the boat, the player will need these items.
- 5 Battery Packs: Players can find these by slaying Iridium Bats in Skull Cavern. Players might also receive these as gifts.
- 5 Iridium Bars: Smelt 5 Iridium Ore and 1 coal inside a Furnace. Players can also find them when beating Iridium Bats.
- 200 Hardwood: Cut down Large Stumps and Large Logs in the forest.
Once the player has repaired the boat, they will be able to visit Ginger Island starting the next day. Players can take the boat starting at 8 am and it only costs 1000 gold to make the trip. There’s much to explore in Ginger Island so players should get cracking.
