Summer House Lindsay Hubbard Dishes on How COVID19 Affected Filming

Summer House star and resident mother of the house, Lindsay Hubbard, is dishing on how COVID-19 affected filming and the entire cast. This year, there was a twist, partly because of the pandemic. The cast wasn’t ready for it, but they still managed to have fun.

Summer House delivers nostalgia to East Coast thirty-somethings who want to relive their days in the frat house. The group of hardworking New Yorkers rents a mansion in the Hamptons for the summer to enjoy each weekend to its fullest. Each night is spent partying while the days are wasted away at wineries. The network has decided to film the crew over a seven-day period instead of five, thanks to the worldwide pandemic.

The first episode of the new season just aired, and it was as good as fans had hoped. Evidently, Luke Gulbranson and Hannah Berner are no longer an item, even though they speak every day. Paige Desorbo is rethinking her relationship, and Lindsay has a five-year plan for marriage and kids. Needless to say, it is a full house.

Lindsay is back for her fifth season and is one of the OGs of the show. She sat down with Page Six to discuss to different dynamics of filming through a quarantine. The new twist is that the entire cast was not allowed to leave their Hampton mansion and had to also work from home while still trying to party on the weekends. The 34-year-old told the outlet, “We spent the last four seasons, you know, going to the Hamptons and coming back to the city. So six weeks in a row with 10 people this time around was an interesting experience.”

The blonde went on to say, “I’m excited for viewers to see how much we actually hustle during the week. You saw that a little bit here and there in the last four seasons, but I think the advantage of being in the house Monday through Friday is that viewers will be able to see how much we do work to afford our partying lifestyle on the weekends.” The new house needed to be grander since all of the cast was essentially bringing their offices as well and the layout afforded for the extra office space that was needed. Even though they are quarantined, they still had fun with Lindsay telling readers, “When you’re in a house or an apartment during a pandemic, you have to get creative with things to do around the house. I think it’ll be fun for viewers to see what we came up with. The games, the themed parties we threw.”

Bravo fans are looking forward to a summer that they can live vicariously through the gang since most of us were locked up at home. The season is bound to get tense and we all can not wait for the drama.
