Luigi is never a go-to character, but he can come in handy in a few fairly difficult Super Mario 3D World levels that Mario isn’t cut out for.

Even though players can choose any unlocked character to take a part in experiencing Super Mario 3D World, some levels are designed with the use of a specific character in mind. Mario’s brother, Luigi can jump to higher peaks and climb to places other characters can’t reach. Though he’s a bit slower and can take some time to get used to, Luigi’s unique talents can definitely come in handy in some cases.
After his high jump, he will slowly come back to the ground while also doing a slight slide while lading. That makes him not very compatible for levels with small platforms if players want to make those high jumps. 10 Super Galaxy
Since there are no power-ups in this stage and platforms are constantly rotating, the best way to get through it with a Tanooki or a Cat Suit and by getting a Luigi to play with. It’s almost impossible to slide across a long rotating platform without a suit. At the end of the stage, there is a part where players need to perform a few continuous jumps in order to get to the star in which scenario Luigi is the best choice.
9 Towering Sunshine Seaside
The area filled with lots of Goombas is the ideal chance to place Luigi into action and use his jumps to deal with towers of Goombas. What makes this stage so hard are the constant fireballs that need to be avoided, depth perception is a key to success. Combined with power-ups and Luigi’s ability to perform such high jumps, Towering Sunshine Seaside can be a piece of cake to complete.
8 Cosmic Cannon Cluster
This is easily the second hardest and longest level of the game right after the Champion’s Road. The run is intense and requires a lot of trial and error in order to complete, but using Luigi can make things a whole lot easier.
Expectations from players in this segment are almost equal to insanity with constantly maneuvering on green flip boards while avoiding cannonballs and also trying to aim and hit the switches just to stay alive. Luigi’s power to perform a high jump can really come useful when players need to climb on the next platform with a little help from beloved cannonballs.
7 Trouble In Shadow-Play Alley
The 2D shadow section with a usable piranha plant as a weapon is the perfect level for Luigi. When it comes to the part where the giant piranha plant needs to be defeated, Luigi can do his famous high jumps and easily destroy the plant. Using the piranha plants as a defense mechanism can also come in handy while they will be eating up everything along the way and also collect different power-ups.
6 Piranha Creeper Creek (And After Dark)
With Luigi, this level can be a piece of cake to complete, so be sure to use his high jumps and go over the piranha plants like they are not even there. Fire power-up should be at Luigi’s side since there is a part where it’s almost impossible to progress without releasing them.
For the second part of the level, patience and time are needed, as well as a way to cope with the darkness. Luigi’s jumping can be helpful in those sticky situations where you are about to lose a life to a piranha plant attacking from the dark.
5 Boss Blitz
Boss Blitz sees the player going up against Boom Boom, Pom Pom, King Ka Thunk, Boss Brolder, Hisstocrat, and Motley Bossblob all in one go, which makes for an overwhelming total of six bosses in one level. By choosing Luigi as a characte,r this area is still going to be difficult to complete, but adding the Cat Suit can make a huge difference.
4 Mystery House Marathon
By making one single mistake on this stage, players are forced to go all the way back to the beginning of the stage, which can seem intense at first since there are thirty levels in total. Luigi can is a perfect fit for areas like these since a good power-up and the Cat Suit could save you a life in the last ten levels.
3 The Great Tower Of Bowser Land
With a decent amount of difficulty, the final boss level is ideal for playing with Luigi. It has all the elements of a boss fight, with flashy lights and great music. Once Luigi gets to the tower where Bowser is, it’s time to jump around the huge vertical section. Bowser is always going to be right behind, so high jumps are going to be extremely useful.
In the second part of the level, the chaos expands and Bowser will race Luigi to the top where he has to avoid thousands of projectiles shooting down at him. Using jump and Luigi’s slide can do the trick.
2 Blast Block Skyway
The blocks in this stage change every second, so it can be really frustrating to hop from one block to another. Therefore, making use of Luigi and his long jump ability is recommended.
The slightest miscalculation can cost a life, as timing is everything on this level. The absolute best way to make it through this level is to settle into a rhythm, though Luigi’s long jumps can work as a method to either skip through difficult sections or as a desperate last resort.
1 Broken Blue Bully Belt
This is the hardest version of The Boiling Blue Bully Belt stage, but, by choosing Luigi can make it much more accessible.
