10 Waitress At a 1950s-Themed Restaurant
Having a successful career in acting requires a lot of sacrifices, patience, and persistence. Before Brooke Elliott became the success story she is today she actually worked as a waitress at a 1950s-themed restaurant where the staff was required to perform a dance routine every single hour.
Luckily this paid off and in 2005 she scored her first role as Denise Bell in the third episode of season one of the show Law & Order: Trial by Jury.

In the romantic drama Sweet Magnolias, Elliott portrays the role of Dana Sue Sullivan a single mother to Annie Sullivan and a successful chef at her very own restaurant Sullivan’s.
The character can be described as powerful yet sweet with a hint of a humorous side. In the show, Elliott shares the spotlight with Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) and Helen Decatur (Heather Headley) and the three of them make an incredible trio. The show is more about the wonderful friendship the ladies have, everything else comes second.
2 Dana Sue’s Surprise Romance
Spoiler alert for those who haven’t yet seen the first season of Sweet Magnolias. As the show films, two episodes at once many actors do not get the opportunity to meet any newcomers. This was the case when Dana Sue met Jeremy on the farm in episode nine of season one.
As she went there alone Swisher and Headley had other scenes to film and later on found out about the romantic moments the two shared. Swisher was thrilled that Dana finally met somebody and Headly jokingly said “I was like, ‘Farmer Jeremy? I should have gone to the farm!’”

The one thing that has always been a priority to Brooke Elliott is her relationship with her family, especially the one she shared with her mother Kathleen Elliott. The actress had a very special bond with her mother and she was devastated when she lost her in 2014.
The actress was receiving the biggest support from her mother as she was struggling to make it as an actress. To this day Elliott is very close with her father and her two siblings Jamie Alexander and Adam Elliott.
