Twins in movies and TV are always interesting due to their unmatched connection. Both film and television have had some great twin duos in history.

It doesn’t happen often in media but whenever audiences get to see twins on screen, it typically is worth watching. There’s just something interesting about two people who are incredibly in sync, either because they’ve been together for their entire lives or because they have had a connection since birth.

Some sets of twins manage to steal the show in a movie while others are the focal point of the entire story. The same goes for television shows. Whether fraternal or identical, together since birth or separated and reunited later on, these twins are the most memorable on television and in films.

10 Movies: Wanda & Pietro Maximoff (Avengers: Age Of Ultron)

After the colossal success that was 2012’s The Avengers, the MCU dreamed even bigger with the 2015 sequel. Avengers: Age of Ultron introduced even more key characters to the core group, with two of them being Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pietro Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), better known as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

The two are shown to be extremely close during the film and are brought closer by the shared hardships of their upbringing. Both are powerful with Pietro’s speed and Wanda’s incredible array of abilities. They’d rank higher if Quicksilver survived longer than just this movie, though he is finally being mentioned again in Disney+’s WandaVision.

9 Television: Michael & Lindsay Bluth (Arrested Development)

There’s a reason this series has often been named among the greatest comedy shows in television history. The dysfunctional Bluth family of Arrested Development is highly entertaining to watch. At the center of it are twins Michael (Jason Bateman) and Lindsay (Portia de Rossi).

Michael is put in charge of the family when the show begins but they all rebel against him in hilarious fashion. Lindsay is incredibly self-centered, which makes her quick to clash with Michael, who is the straight man of the series. They may not be as tightly bonded as others but they’re great to watch.

8 Movies: Hallie Parker & Annie James (The Parent Trap)

The 1961 version of the film may be a classic but there’s just something about the 1998 iteration that is easy to love. Maybe it’s the delightful performance of a young Lindsay Lohan as both Hallie Parker and Annie James that makes this version such a joy.

The premise of The Parent Trap is far out there, as two twins are separated at birth following the divorce of their parents and they end up meeting at a summer camp. The way that the girls manage to find a connection despite being so different thanks to their upbringing is always a treat.

7 Television: Zack & Cody Martin (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody)

The combination of Zack and Cody Martin (Dylan and Cole Sprouse) kind of dominated the Disney Channel for a long time. The original series, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, ran from 2006 until 2008 before The Suite Life on Deck aired from 2008 until 2011. There was also a TV movie released.

The series centered on the titular set of twins who live at a hotel. They constantly got into all sorts of shenanigans while there, making it the perfect setting for a Disney Channel series. For a lot of fans, these twins played a major part in them growing up and are beloved because of it.

6 Movies: Cameron & Tyler Winklevoss (The Social Network)

There’s a very good chance that The Social Network, released in 2010, is the best movie to ever feature twins. It was met with high praise universally, won three Academy Awards, and was nominated for Best Picture. The film is about the creation of Facebook and the drama surrounding those people behind it.

While the twins aren’t the central characters, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (both played by Armie Hammer) are key characters with some of the film’s most memorable quotes. They came up with an idea that helped spark Mark Zuckerburg’s development of Facebook and sued him over it.

5 Television: Tia & Tamera (Sister, Sister)

Long before there was The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, there was Sister, Sister. This sitcom began in 1994 and ran for over 100 episodes until the finale in 1999. At the center of the series was Tia and Tamera Mowry, who played Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell.

Similar to The Parent Trap, the twins were split up at birth. However, in this more realistic scenario, they were adopted by separate families and eventually meet as teenagers who eventually end up living together. Being real twins helped the chemistry of the leads and audiences loved their opposing personalities.

4 Movies: Alfred Borden & Fallon (The Prestige)

You know you’re a great set of twins when everyone remembers you despite only being revealed as twins at the end of a film. Christopher Nolan movies are often known to feature a big twist and the biggest he ever did may have come in 2006’s The Prestige.

Throughout this movie, audiences watch as warring magicians Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) and Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) battle for supremacy. Borden has a trick that seems like real magic, only for it to be revealed in the end that he pulled it off with the help of a secret twin. The two took turns as Borden and Fallon (Borden’s close confidant) and went to great lengths to preserve their secret.

3 Television: Sarah Manning & Helena (Orphan Black)

When it comes to sisters, it’s hard to beat the “sestras” of Orphan Black. After all, the show that aired from 2013 until 2017 was focused on a group of clones who were all technically sisters. While the bond between all of them is great, two of them stood out more than the rest.

That would be Sarah Manning and Helena (both played by Tatiana Maslany). Unlike the rest of Clone Club, these two shared the same surrogate mother, making them twins. Even with one being homicidal and with both trying to kill each other at points, the two becomes best friends and grow to care for each other greatly.

2 Movies: Fred & George Weasley (Harry Potter Franchise)

They might not be the main stars of a story but there’s something to be said about playing twins for eight films in total. That’s just what James and Oliver Phelps did as Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise. They are more prominent in the books but the movies gave fans plenty of reasons to love them.

The two were always up to various hijinks and worked as comic relief throughout the series. Fans adored them in almost every installment, even the ones where they didn’t have a ton to do. Their highlights were probably the way they left Hogwarts and giving Harry the Marauder’s Map.

1 Television: Sterling & Blair Wesley (Teenage Bounty Hunters)

To be fair, not a lot of people watched Netflix’s Teenage Bounty Hunters. It’s part of why the show didn’t get a second season. However, those who watched it will understand why fraternal twins Sterling (Maddie Phillips) and Blair Wesley (Anjelica Bette Fellini) are the best of the bunch.

The two are basically joined at the hip, doing seemingly everything together. Their relationship is the heart of the show and the focal point throughout. They support each other greatly and other than one fight, are always on the same page. Plus, the telepathic twin connection they have is unmatched.
