Robert Pattinson’s take on the Dark Knight gets the LEGO treatment in a humorous, official poster for director Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

The poster, shared by DC’s official Batman Twitter account, recreates the iconic red-hued poster for The Batman, in which the Caped Crusader is seen walking through the rain, the bright red bat symbol on his chest contrasting against his shadowy suit. The key difference, however, is that Robert Pattinson has been replaced by a LEGO minifigure of Batman. DC’s caption reads, “‘The Bat and the Brick’ — Anticipation is building,” poking fun at The Batman’s “The Bat and the Cat” marketing.

The idea of a cinematic LEGO Batman is certainly not unprecedented. Prior to Pattinson taking on the role of Bruce Wayne, Will Arnett voiced the character in the 2014 animated feature The Lego Movie and its 2019 sequel The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. In the interim, Arnett starred in the 2017 spinoff film The Lego Batman Movie — which, interestingly enough, also featured ZoĆ« Kravitz as the voice of Catwoman. Kravitz, of course, portrays the character of Catwoman in live-action in The Batman.

Naturally, there are also a number of official LEGO sets for The Batman. While some fans appeared to be surprised by the official announcement that The Batman would be rated PG-13, the existence of these LEGO sets effectively confirmed that this would be the case months prior, due to the fact that LEGO has a long-standing rule against making toys based on R-rated films. Nevertheless, Reeves assures his film will push the limits of its rating.

“In my mind, [The Batman] was always going to be a gritty, edgy, noir, thrilling spectacle that was PG-13,” the director said. “That was always what it was, but I always knew that we’d be pushing the limits of what that could be, and so we didn’t really have to cut anything. The promotional materials that you’re seeing, they’re fully reflective of the tone of the movie.”

The Batman stars Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Lt. James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin. Set during the Dark Knight’s second year of crimefighting, film sees Bruce learn the truth about the corruption in Gotham — and how it connects to his own family — while pursuing the enigmatic serial killer known as the Riddler.

The Batman premieres in theaters on March 4.
