Genshin Impact has so many various characters with all different builds, Ganyu is a new character from the recent release of the Dragonspine Region. Ganyu is a powerful archer from the Liyue area. If built-up properly with weapons and artifacts that compliment her playstyle, she can quickly become a top member of any player’s team.

As an archer, she is a great warrior to keep in the back of the playing field to deal heavy DPS attacks. This means that abusing her distraction skill, the Trial of Qilin, is well worthwhile to keep the enemies as far from her as possible. Her other main ability is her Cryo damaging attacks. As an elemental damage dealer, DPS is perfect for her.

The Best Weapon Options for Ganyu in Genshin Impact

As stated previously, Ganyu is an archer and archers need a bow. There are many different bows available in-game for players to find. However, here is a list of the best three to five-star bows available for Ganyu that should be accessible for both new and older players.

Three Star Bows –

• Messenger – This is likely the best option for players within this level of bows. Its passive ability causes it’s charged attacks to deal an extra 100% damage on weak spots, labeled as critical damage. However, this ability will only happen every 10 seconds, so it can’t be too heavily abused.
• Sharpshooter’s Oath – This bow is fairly standard but with decent passive ability. It’s passive deals 24% extra damage against the weak spots of an enemy.
• Slingshot – This bow can be positive or negative depending on the playstyle of the player acting as Ganyu. This bow has a passive ability that will cause any normal or charged attack to deal 36% more damage if the shot hits the target within 0.3 seconds of being shot. Otherwise, it will decrease the standard damage by 10%.

Four Star Bows –

• Blackcliff Warbow – This bow’s passive ability allows Ganyu’s base damage to go up by 12% for 30 seconds after defeating an opponent. This ability can stack up to three times with each stack’s time being separate from the others.
• Compound Bow – This bow’s passive ability is pretty easy to spam with only a minimum of 0.3 seconds between each time it can activate and be able to stack up to four times. The passive ability grants a boon to Ganyu’s base damage and attack speed. Their base attack damage is increased by 4% and attack speed is increased by 1.2% for six seconds.
• The Stringless – This bow is specifically great for Ganyu as it’s passive ability helps her elemental damage. This bow increases her Elemental Skill Burst, Celestial Shower, damage by 24%.

Five Star Bows –

• Amos’ Bow – This bow’s passive ability increases the player’s normal and charged attack damage by 12%. They also increase by 8% for 1.2 seconds and can be stacked up to five times.
• Skyward Harp – This bow’s passive mainly increases the critical damage dealt by 20%. This is while Ganyu’s hits with the bow have a 60% chance of causing some AoE damage. This AoE damage deals 125% of the player’s physical attack damage. This ability can also happen every four seconds in combat.

The Best Artifacts for Ganyu in Genshin Impact

The top artifacts players will want for Ganyu will be dependent on whether she is played as more of a damaging character or a supporting combat and healer type. Either way, these are the best artifacts for Ganyu based on her abilities.

• Blizzard Slayer – Each of these artifacts has specific effects on Ganyu’s playstyle. The Blizzard Slayer causes Ganyu to deal an extra 15% damage. When Ganyu attacks an enemy affected by Cryo their critical rate is increased by 20% and if the opponent is frozen, Ganyu deals even 20% more damage.
• Noblesse Oblige – This artifact causes Ganyu to deal an extra 25% elemental burst damage. Using this ability will also cause the entire party’s attack damage by 20% for 12 seconds. While a great support option, this ability does not stack.
• Wanderer’s Troupe – This artifact grants Ganyu an increase to her elemental mastery by 80% and her charged attack damage by 35% if she uses a Catalyst or Bow.

Another good option as far as artifacts go is the Glacier and Snowfield two-piece set that increases her Cryo damage by 15-30% depending on the type of attack. This set can also increase her Superconductor damage by 100% and Melt by 15%.

The Best Damage and Support Build for Ganyu in Genshin Impact

As more of a DPS build, Ganyu should have one of the two five star bows, as that will affect her base damage and attack. Player’s will also want to focus on a couple of specific stats. Particularly, her base attack, cryo damage, critical damage, and hit points. This will build her up as a slightly more well-rounded archer rather than entirely a glass cannon. As far as artifacts, the best options for a DPS player would be the Blizzard Slayer and either the Wanderer’s Troupe or the Glacier and Snowfield.As more of a Support build, Ganyu doesn’t need to focus on having the best bow possible, a three or four-star should suffice. For this build, Ganyu should focus on her attack damage, energy recharge, cryo damage, and hit points. This will make Ganyu more well-rounded than the previous build but also less damaging. For this build, players should get the Noblesse Oblige and the Wanderer’s Troupe.
