Though The Office is filled with memorable relationships, none are quite as iconic Jim and Pam’s romance. Though the two start out as friends, they eventually date, get engaged, buy a house, get married, have kids, and continue through life by each other’s sides. As there are so many adorable scenes featuring Jim and Pam, we’re only going to be able to touch the surface of their relationship. That being said, many of the below moments aren’t only some of the couple’s best but some of the series’ best.

10 Pam Falls Asleep On Jim’s Shoulder

When we first meet Pam and Jim in “Pilot,” it doesn’t take long for us to learn that Jim has a major crush on Pam. Pam may be dating — ahem, engaged — to Roy, but that doesn’t stop her from leaning her head on Jim’s shoulder in episode 2, “Diversity Day.”

Michael rambles on during a meeting in the conference room, so Pam closes her eyes and casually leans her head on Jim. What a move.

9 Jim And Pam Eat Grilled Cheese On The Roof

Pam and Jim have other evening plans in Season 2’s “The Client,” but decide to break them off in order to spend time with one another on the roof. They set up lawn chairs, light a candle, and enjoy some tasty grilled cheese sandwiches he cooks up. Meanwhile, Dwight and Kevin attempt to set off fireworks down below.

Though the moment was simple and Jim and Pam weren’t even dating yet, it displayed the pair’s genuine friendship and romantic spark.

8 Pam Trades Her iPod For Jim’s Teapot At The Christmas Party

Michael Scott decides to turn the office’s Secret Santa gift exchange into a game of Yankee Swap, in which everyone trades items to score the best present. This is bad news for Jim, who bought a teapot for Pam filled with special memories they shared together — especially when Dwight ends up with it at the end.

Realizing how important it is to Jim that she get the teapot, Pam trades the iPod she won for it, even though the pot’s monetary value is much lower. Together, Jim and Pam smile at the surprises inside.

7 Jim Kisses Pam On Casino Night

Jim finally expresses his feelings to Pam in the Season 2 finale, “Casino Night.”

Though he is left heartbroken after Pam says he misinterpreted their friendship, she ends up calling her mom on the phone upstairs as she considers the prospect of them being together. When Jim enters the room, she hangs up, and the two share a passionate kiss.

Because The Office built up to this moment for so long, fans were thrilled to finally see the two get together, even if temporarily.

6 Jim Asks Pam Out

The episode following the big kiss reveals that Jim transferred to the Stamford branch. Though his branch is eventually absorbed by Scranton, he has a new girlfriend upon return.

Because of this, Season 3 is filled with tension between Jim and Pam. Thankfully, it comes to an end in the two-part finale, “The Job.”

In an interview in front of the camera, Pam tells the crew that she doesn’t think she and Jim will ever work out together. However, as she’s taping, Jim rushes through the door and asks her on a date. She agrees, and she becomes so excited that she forgets what she was saying.

5 Jim Proposes To Pam At A Gas Station

The build-up to Pam and Jim’s engagement was huge. After all, Jim bought a ring a week after he started dating Pam, and he teased her about the approaching proposal multiple times. He even pretended he was about to propose one day while walking, only to just reach down to tie his shoe.

The way in which the big moment finally arrived surprised viewers. Jim got down on one knee at a rest stop right before Pam began art courses at the Pratt Institute in New York. He just couldn’t wait, and that’s what makes the moment even sweeter.

4 Jim Surprises Pam With An Art Studio

So maybe surprising your significant other with the news that you’ve bought your parents’ house isn’t the best idea. However, this is TV. And in The Office, Pam’s actually pretty happy to learn that Jim bought them a house.

The really cute part, despite Jim’s questionable real estate decisions, is when he reveals that he set up an art studio for Pam in the garage. It’s sweet that he wants to support her passions, and she’s clearly thrilled.

3 Pam Discovers She’s Pregnant

In addition to learning she owns a new house, Pam also has another surprise come her way at the end of Season 5: she’s pregnant. Pam and Jim learn the big news after the company picnic.

Though Pam heads to the doctor to seek medical attention for her ankle, this visit ultimately serves as an opportunity for her to learn about her child. Though Jim and Pam never explicitly state that they’re having a baby in this scene, their expressions say it all. The moment is sweet and poignant.

2 Jim Cuts Off His Tie At The Wedding

When Jim and Pam’s wedding day finally rolls around in the two-part episode “Niagara,” things are a mess. Pam is upset about looking pregnant in her wedding dress and to make things worse, she just ripped through her veil.

Seeing his wife-to-be so upset, Jim decides to console her by clipping his own tie in half with scissors. This touching gesture shows that he cares so much more about marrying Pam than how everything looks on the outside. The two then sneak away to get married alone on a ferry. After, they return to the church to continue the ceremony with family and friends.

1 Jim Makes Pam A DVD Of Memories

Jim and Pam’s final big moment comes in “A.A.R.M,” near the end of Season 9. Though they have a happy married life together, things get a little messy after Jim directs more attention toward a sports marketing company called Athlead than to his wife.

The two eventually sort things out, and Pam encourages Jim to chase after his dreams. However, to prove to Pam how much he values her, Jim gets the production crew to help him put together a highlight montage of their relationship. He also presents a note to her that he hid away during the aforementioned Christmas gift exchange, proving just how much he does care for her and always has.
