In 1994, Tim Allen took a turn at becoming Santa in The Santa Clause. The movie followed Scott Calvin (Allen) as he transformed from a business professional into Santa over the course of a year — all because he accidentally killed the original Santa. The holiday movie left fans with questions about how Calvin was going to leave everyday life for a new life in the North Pole, which is when a sequel was released, The Santa Clause 2.

After the second film, the life of Santa continued in the third and final film in the franchise, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. It’s been over 20 years since the third movie came out and a lot has changed for the cast of all three movies over the years.

10 Tim Allen (Scott Calvin And Santa)

Tim Allen played Scott Calvin before he became Santa Claus. On on Christmas Eve, Scott was shocked when he saw Santa on his roof. When he tried getting Santa’s attention, Santa fell off the roof and died. But according to the North Pole, whoever was there when Santa died would become the new Santa.

It took Scott a while before he grasped his new reality, but when he did, his life changed forever. As Santa, he became a better dad, a new husband, and a kinder human being. Since The Santa Clause movies, Allen went on to star in Toy Story, Assembly Required, and more recently, Last Man Standing. No matter how great his resume is, The Santa Clause will always be one of Tim Allen’s best movies.

9 Wendy Crewson (Laura)

Wendy Crewson played Scott’s ex-wife and the mother of Charlie, Laura. With Scott working so much, Laura was the level-headed parent who had to raise Charlie without his biological dad around. She wasn’t the funniest character from the trilogy but she was realistic. Her new husband, Neal, was great with Charlie but Laura struggled with balancing her new husband and her ex.

Crewson portrayed Laura in all three movies but her workload never lightened. She was in Workin’ Moms, Frankie Drake Mysteries, and most recently seen in the TV series When Hope Calls. Crewson continues to be hard-working access outside of her holiday films.

8 Judge Reinhold (Neal)

Judge Reinhold played Charlie’s ste[dad, Neal. As a psychiatrist, he was very involved with Charlie’s life and felt like he knew what was best for him when he was acting out. And even though Scott and Neal weren’t always fond of each other, they worked together for the better of Charlie.

As The Santa Clause went on, it didn’t make sense that Neal was so upset about Charlie believing in Santa at such a young age. Did it really matter if he believed in Santa or not? After the third movie, actor Judge Reinhold was in Four Christmases and a Wedding, Bad Grandmas, and Highly functional. However, his last project was in 2017.

7 Eric Lloyd (Charlie)

Scott Calvin wasn’t always the best dad but he really did love his son Charlie. Because of Scott’s job, he wasn’t able to be the hands-on dad that he wanted to be, but that all changed when he became Santa Claus. His relationship with Charlie got stronger after that. Throughout each of the movies, Charlie grew up and went through the basic growing pains that every teenager goes through. And while he got into quite a bit of trouble in high school, he had a big heart deep down.

As Charlie, Eric Lloyd basically grew up on camera. He continued acting throughout his teenage years and has picked up quite a bit of work in recent times. In 2020, he was in the show Comic Conventions.

6 David Krumholtz (Bernard)

David Krumholtz was Santa’s right-hand man in The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 2. Starring as Bernard, he was in charge of the North Pole whenever Santa wasn’t there. He kept all of the elves in line and made sure production went smoothly.

In real life, Krumholtz had an incredibly successful acting career since his time in the trilogy. He went on to star on Mom, The Good Wife, All Hail King Julian, and then in 2001, he was in a podcast series called The Lamb.

5 Martin Short (Jack Frost)

In the third and final installment of The Santa Clause, Martin Short played Jack Frost. Frost was jealous of Santa because he didn’t have his own national holiday. Using trickery, Frost was able to take over Scott’s position as Santa, which caused an epic duel between Santa Claus and Jack Frost. Even though Jack was an antagonist, he was one of the funnier characters in The Santa Clause trilogy.

Outside of The Santa Clause 3, Short is a famed actor and comedian. He starred as Dick Lundy in The Morning Show, Oliver Putman in Only Murders in the Building, and has a new movie in post-production called Back Home Again among other notable works.

4 Spencer Breslin (Curtis)

Although Tim Allen has been in Christmas With the Kranks, The Santa Clause is one of his best Christmas movies. And the series only got better when Spencer Breslin joined as the new Head Elf, Curtis. As a popular child actor at the time, Breslin’s celebrity did wonders for the second and third installments.

After The Santa Clause, Breslin continued acting but appeared to take a few breaks after 2009. According to his IMDb, his last project was in 2019, a short called Wickenburg.

3 Elizabeth Mitchell (Carol)

In The Santa Clause 2, Scott is shocked when he finds out that he has to get married in a short amount of time to remain Santa. He thought the mission would be impossible… Until he met Carol, Charlie‘s principal.

As strict as Carol was, she got along great with Scott and ended up accepting his proposal by the end of the movie. In the third installment, Carol was pregnant and expecting the couple’s first baby. As an established actress, Elizabeth Mitchell has been busy since her time in The Santa Clause series. She’s been a part of Lost, V, and Outer Banks to name a few.

2 Liliana Mumy (Lucy Miller)

The mystique and whimsy of The Santa Clause series make it one of the most underrated Christmas movies to date. The movies show how important and loving it is to believe in magic. Liliana Mumy plays Charlie’s half-sister, Lucy. Being a child, Lucy gives into the beauty of magic as she questions the spirit of the holiday and whether or not Santa Claus is real. Her findings eventually prove themselves right when her assumptions about her “Uncle Scott” being Santa is true.

Mumy was just a kid when she starred in the franchise but she has made a career for herself since then. She has been in Winx Club, Bravest Warriors, Listen Out Loud Podcast, and The Loud House.

1 Paige Tamada (Elf Judy)

Paige Tamada was just a little girl when she portrayed Elf Judy. Elf Judy was the sweet elf who gave Scott some of the best hot chocolate he had ever had and talked him into being Santa Claus when he first arrived at the North Pole. She had a small role in the movie but it was memorable.

In the ‘90s, Paige was busy being a part of Evening Shade and Mad City, and her final role was in Ally McBeal in 1999. Not much is known about Tamada’s adult life but only true fans remember Elf Judy’s been perfecting her hot cocoa recipe for over 500 years!
