Optimus Prime and Bumblebee’s vehicle forms are shown in new set photos for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay made the Transformers franchise one of the biggest in the world over the last nearly 15 years. However, the future of the franchise lies with a new canon and mythology that 2018’s Bumblebee helped relaunch. The film’s success led Paramount to work with Creed II’s Steven Caple Jr. to develop the seventh film in the Transformers franchise.

After working on multiple ideas for the new film, Paramount revealed earlier this year that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is what will come next. The movie will star Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in a story set in 1994. Transformers 7 will feature the live-action debut of different Beast Wars characters, such as Optimus Primal, but it will also continue to include some of the most recognizable Autobots: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The two heroes have been in all previous Transformers movies.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently in production with Caple Jr. bringing his fresh vision to life. The start of filming has meant several updates on the movie, especially since this is when Paramount decided to reveal multiple details about the movie. But, the Transformers 7 news rush won’t end just because official details are no longer being shared. New set photos from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts are circulating online as filming continues, and the latest leak features the first look at Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Caple Jr. previously said that the G1 Transformers designs would return in Rise of the Beasts, and these new set photos mostly back up that claim. Bumblebee’s G1 design was previously used in Bumblebee, but the end of the movie saw him trade in the Volkswagen look for a Camaro. This design is what Bumblebee continues to have in Transformers 7. In fact, both of the Autobots’ looks are nearly identical to how they looked at the very end of the 2018 film. Optimus Prime has added a big grille guard and has a slightly different silver line across the cab.

These new images of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts should only continue to increase the excitement for the movie. While Bay’s versions of the Transformer designs had their fans, plenty of viewers also liked how Bumblebee simplified the designs and transformations. It’ll be interesting to see how Caple evolves the transformation sequences with this movie, especially with Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons involved. There will be plenty of transforming in the next film with all of these characters, so now fans will just have to wait and see what Optimus Prime and Bumblebee’s alternate forms look like in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
