So it turns out that Vanya isn’t as innocent and defenseless as the audience thought. She’s actually a murderer to several nannies after they forced her to eat oatmeal. Who would have thought? Then came along Grace.

The woman that all the children call mom, who put out a fire made by young Klaus, who encouraged Vanya’s violin playing, who helped Diego overcome his stutter when he felt that it overpowered him. She was made by Sir Hargreeves as the ultimate nanny. One who could be thrown across the room by Vanya and get right back up again.

Five is a troubled intellectual genius who has seen too much and done things he regrets, stuck inside the body of a 13-year-old. While that factor lays heavy on his shoulders, he also has the burden of saving the world from an incoming apocalypse. The only trouble is no one believes him.

It was a scene that broke the viewers’ hearts. It seems that no one can escape Vanya’s wrath. Well, no one excluding Klaus and Ben’s surprise superhero moment. Pogo was a mysterious character.

Sir Hargreeves’s right-hand man or chimpanzee, so to speak. After the siblings’ adoptive father killed himself in order to bring them all together, Pogo was left to deal with the destruction and secrets. When Vanya asked him for a second time if he knew of her powers, Pogo’s fate was sealed.

One of the most interesting plot developments throughout the season was Klaus’s growing powers and his brotherly bond with Ben. The show began hinting that Ben wasn’t just a spirit who was constantly by Klaus’s side.

That Klaus could speak to ghosts and understand them, use their knowledge, and somehow make them corporeal was a game-changer. When Ben slapped the drugs out of Klaus’s mouth after he was sick and tired of being ignored by his brother, and hit him with physical impact, the audience’s reaction was not unlike theirs.
