UNIQLO Announces Wave Two of Demon Slayer Clothing Line

Earlier this summer, Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO announced a really sweet line of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba collaborative t-shirts known as the Manga UT Demon Slayer collection, perfect for the wardrobe of any fan of the smash hit anime and manga. Now the second line of shirts has been revealed, and they are equally as awesome.

UNIQLO is well known for absolutely smashing their licenced property collabs, not only delivering high quality graphic tees, but shirts with style and fashion that outshines most generic licenced shirts. Their recent announcement of the first wave of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba shirts was a shining example of how well UNIQLO handles these types of collabs, and this second wave is no exception either. Although the first set isn’t even out yet, not releasing until September, this announcement already has excitement stirring for round two.

While the first round focused mainly more on character centric pieces, giving different characters the chance to be featured on their own unique shirts, this second wave is a bit more stylistically aimed, with more subtle nods to the world famous manga and anime. Interestingly, they have divided the waves with the first being labeled as the manga line, with this second wave classified as the anime line, but realistically they work both ways. Titled as the Anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba UT collection, this second wave features a few less shirts than the first coming in at a total of five tees. As mentioned before, this line is meant to be more fashion forward than the first, with only two of the shirts actually featuring an image of a character.

The first shirt in the line looks like something you might find at a college university store, featuring the name of Kyojuro Rengoku. His last name is spread across the chest in white letters spread as a rainbowlike shape, with flames coming from the tops of the letters. Below, within a small oval, is his first name. The flame lettering and red color of the shirt pay tribute to the character that inspired the shirt, as Kyojuro Rengoku is known as the Flame Hashira, one of the nine most powerful swordsman in entire Demon Slayer Corps.

Next up is a green shirt simply titled Swords. The shirt features nine minimalistic symbols that represents the different tsubas of the main characters. Tsubas are the handguards found on katanas, which makes the name for this shirt very fitting. This shirt is sure to only be noticed by the most hardcore of Demon Slayer fans, allowing it to serve as a minimalist art like shirt to the average eye.

The third shirt presented is the only front character feature of the bunch, a shirt around Zenitsu Agatsuma. The tee has an image of his face surrounded by the words of his Thunder Breathing sword style, followed by his First Form: Thunderclap and Flash.

Perhaps one of the coolest of the bunch, this shirt really drives home the point that UNIQLO makes by blending licenced properties subtly into fashion. This peach shirt dawns a modern art interpretation of the different characters signature kimonos, layering each of the patterns atop each other.

The final shirt, while the most basic of the bunch, also hits the nail on the head of subtly. Rather than plastering a massic graphic across the entire tee, the shirt instead has a small logo on the left chest. The logo is the tsuba of none other than the main protagonist Tanjiro Kamado. This shirt is also the only to dawn a graphic across the back, with a neon pink stylized image of Tanjiro protecting his sister.

Yet again, UNIQLO has absolutely outdone themselves. This second Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba UNIQLO collaborative t-shirt collection doesn’t release till October, but it can already be found here on UNIQLO’s site.
