As a magic mod fixed with balanced progression systems, Skyheim added Skyrim-inspired magic to Valheim. The Elder Scrolls V and Valheim aren’t exactly strangers to one another, especially when considering how the former influenced the development of the latter. Plus, Valheim players continue to incorporate their favorite aspects of Skyrim into the survival title – one such example includes a user’s recreation of the nearly ten-year-old RPG’s High Hrothgar Castle.

In-game constructs serve as but a single piece of the equation when it comes to Valheim’s growing popularity. Mods have become all the rage amongst the massive community of players, as well. An ambitious modder recently built a mod that enables virtual reality support, for example. Before then, another fan-made mod made the rounds due to its recreation of World of Warcraft’s Northrend continent. A variety of other Valheim mods have surfaced since launch, but fans may want to pay special attention to Skyheim.

Last week Nexus Mods user makzimus launched Skyheim, a mod that introduces Skyrim-styled magic into the world of Valheim. Thanks to “balanced progression,” the magic mod notably gives players a reason to revisit boss battles since each boss creature drops a crafting ingredient used for creating and upgrading runes. Said runes open the door for spellcasting abilities that can prove beneficial to the player and destructive to enemies. Skyheim additionally equips spells with a mana resource and cooldown function. YouTuber Howdoudoaspace showcased the magic mod in action and broke down every aspect of Skyheim in the following video:

The Skyheim mod seems a fantastic addition to the overall experience. And like those before it, Skyheim will certainly keep players occupied as the wait for official Valheim updates from developer Iron Gate persists. Developers explained that Valheim’s unexpected success slowed Iron Gate’s post-launch content plans to a crawl, with the team now focusing the bulk of its efforts on tackling the most egregious glitches.

Whenever the big updates start rolling out, players can expect Hearth and Home to count among the first. This particular addition will bring extra building and food-related content to the open-world survival experience, specifically allowing users to complete more tasks in and around their homes.
