Randall Emmett is a Hollywood producer who is the co-founder of his own production company Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films (also called EFO Films). Although the 48-year-old has 114 credits to his name, not many people outside of Los Angeles have heard of him. In 2016, the producer began a relationship with Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent and the rest is history.
His stardom shot to the moon after becoming engaged to Lala and a unique altercation with rapper 50 Cent on Instagram. However, through all of the relationship drama fans saw on TV and on social media, his resume is quite impressive. After the success of The Irishman (a movie Randall helped produced), we’re taking a look at 10 other projects we didn’t know Randall Emmett was apart of.
10 End Of Watch (2012)
In 2012, Randall was a producer on End of Watch. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, the movie revolves around two LAPD officers patrolling one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the city.
The two officers are thick as thieves but they find themselves in an adventure of a lifetime when they get involved with the cartel. The movie was considered a success earning more than $55 million in the box office and winning two awards.
9 Silence (2016)
Silence is a film about religion, travel, and secrets. Starring Liam Neeson, Adam Driver, and Andrew Garfield, Silence follows two priests on their journey from Portugal to Japan. Based in the 17th century, Garfield and Driver’s characters travel across the world to find their idol (Neeson) while spreading the word of their faith along the way.
Martin Scorsese directed the film where it went on to be nominated for Best Cinematography at the Academy Awards. As much as critics loved the film, Silence did not perform well in the box office.
8 Everest (2015)
Everest is the reenactment of real events, In 1996, a group of eight people got into trouble after bracing an unannounced storm while climbing down Mount Everest from its highest peak.
The film starred big names like Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, Robin Wright, and Jason Clarke (among others) as they retold the 1996 events. The film was a whopping success, earning more than $200 million in box offices and being nominated for six awards.
7 Power (2014-2020)
Power is a crime series on Starz that just wrapped up after six seasons. It revolves around Omari Hardwick’s character, James St. Patrick, as he tries to leave the drug-dealing world and become a legitimate business owner. Funny enough, 50 Cent is also in the show, which is how Randall Emmett got to know the famous rapper before starting a feud over borrowed money on Instagram.
Power may have ended this year but it’s one of Starz’s top-performing shows and has won awards for its dramatic performances.
6 Gotti (2018)
Did anyone else know that Randall Emmett was one of the main producers of Gotti? The 2018 film starred John Travolta and was directed by Kevin Connolly. Revolving around mob master John Gotti, the film goes back in time telling the life of Gotti’s rise to fame in the Gambino family.
Sadly, Gotti wasn’t well received and only made $6 million in theaters. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, Gotti received a 46% and was said to put too much information into a short movie.
5 A Vigilante (2018)
A Vigilante wasn’t just produced by Randall, it was also produced by his ex-wife Ambyr Childers. Starring Olivia Wilde, the movie follows her character as she helps women suffering from domestic violence on her own terms.
As viewers find out, Wilde’s character was also a victim of domestic violence and comes head to head with her abuser. The film didn’t do too well in box offices but it did receive great reviews from fans and critics who caught the film later.
4 First Kill (2017)
Starring Bruce Willis, First Kill is the twisted adventure drama about a heist gone wrong. Willis’s character takes the family to a cabin to reconnect when he and his son witness a murder.
From there, Willis’s character’s son is kidnapped and he finds himself helping the criminals escape just to get his son back. Sadly, like many of Emmett’s films, First Kill didn’t even break $400,000 in box offices…
3 Aftermath (2017)
Aftermath tells the tale of a real life story (although there were many things changed about what really happened, apparently) involving a plane crash. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Roman Melnyk, a man who is devastated to hear that his wife and daughter are killed in a plane crash.
At a loss for words, he gets to the bottom of their death and blames the air traffic control man for their deaths. As intense of a story as it is, Aftermath lost money. With a $10 million budget, the film only received $840,000 in box offices.
2 Vice (2015)
Vice tells the story of former US President George W Bush’s transition into presidency alongside Dick Cheney. Directed by Adam McKay, Vice had big names attached to the film like Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Steve Carell, and more.
The movie was an instant success and was perfectly crafted, earning over $76 million in the box office. Christian Bale won a Golden Globe for Best Actor
1 Lone Survivor (2013)
Lone Survivor is a war and action film starring Mark Wahlberg based on a real story. It takes place in Afghanistan as the Navy Seals try to take out the leader of the Taliban in 2005.
The telling of a true story was a raging success, earning almost $150 million in the box office. Lone Survivor won a SAG Award and a Critic’s Choice Award.
