A theater crowd in Europe cheered on while watching the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer before a screening of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Marketing for the upcoming Jon Watts filmed starring Tom Holland has been slow to roll out new promotional material in recent weeks. This is largely because Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment have been busy working on other projects, like Eternals and Le There Be Carnage. Despite this, No Way Home’s first-look teaser trailer continues to excite fans as the only brief glimpse into the blockbuster that Marvel has provided so far.

Released back in August 2021 after months of anticipation, the No Way Home trailer quickly became the most-watched clip for 204 hours, easily dethroning Avengers: Endgame. Surprisingly, it was quite liberal with plot details and what fans can expect from the film. That includes how it will connect to the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, not to mention how Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) ties into the narrative. The trailer appeared to confirm that No Way Home will have a multiversal storyline, caused by a tampered spell from the sorcerer. While it did reveal Alfred Molina’s return as Doc Ock from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, it didn’t feature former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, who are both heavily rumored to be involved.

Suffice to say fans have watched the No Way Home multiple times since it was released, looking for Easter eggs and hints as to how the film will tie into the wider MCU. However, that doesn’t compare to seeing it on the big screen, as proven by a new video from FrileX on Twitter. During the premiere showing of Let There Be Carnage at Europe’s biggest cinema, a crowded theater of people began cheering and whistling as soon as the latest Spider-Man trailer stars playing. Clearly, there’s a lot of anticipation for No Way Home. Admittedly, the excitement is palpable online, especially with fans’ vigilance when it comes to any update about the project. At this point, this trailer has been dissected multiple times to scour for any other clues about potential cameos and plot details. It’s the reason why, despite not explicitly appearing, the public has found references to other villains’ involvement, including Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Jamie Foxx’s Electro, among others. Still, it’s fascinating to see the actual, real-time reaction from people seeing the trailer on the big screen in the video, since chances are many people in the audience had already seen the clip, but were still blown away by the in-theater experience.

With only one trailer released thus far, expect that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment to ramp up their marketing efforts as the release of No Way Home nears. Unbelievably, the film doesn’t even have an official poster yet, and some cinemas around the world have even opted to use fan-made Spider-Man: No Way Home posters to promote its upcoming premiere. Chances are that a banner will be rolled out around the same time the studio drops the inevitable second trailer for the blockbuster.
