Battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone is no stranger to big glitches, but the latest one allowed for players to farm kills without fear of anyone fighting back. Thankfully, Raven Software has released a new patch that fixes these map exploits in Warzone along with several other issues plaguing the title.

Warzone’s new Verdansk ’84 map largely features the same layout and locations from the old map, with a few new spots thrown in. Players have a great feel for the map as is because of this; although there are new layers and details, it’s still easy to know where to go, how to navigate the map, and where to hunker down. That said, the new rendition of Verdansk also added new bugs, such as one where players could get under the map.

Warzone players have largely been avoiding the Stadium area since exploiters have begun burying themselves underground to shoot players sitting above them. Raven Software has fixed this annoying Warzone exploit, no longer letting players unfairly take advantage of glitches. The team has also made several other adjustments to the game, such as no longer allowing open mic chat at the end of games with allotted respawns such as Plunder. Raven has also fixed the mushroom cloud in the distance of Verdansk ’84 so that it no longer wiggles around when looked at from various angles.

It’s likely only a matter of time before more bugs and map exploits pop up. Warzone has suffered plenty over the last year from people finding ways to break the game in rather significant ways, such as players turning invisible. Verdansk isn’t the only map to suffer from map exploits either, as Warzone’s Rebirth Island suffers from map glitches where players can also get under the entire map. This has since been fixed as well, but it shows that some players will do just about anything they can for easy and free kills.

It’s great to see Raven Software acting quickly and efficiently with these bugs, nonetheless. It didn’t take long for the team to become aware of the issue and quickly squash it, ensuring that players will have to rely on skill as opposed to seeking out hiding spots as a crutch for their weaknesses. Thousands of cheaters have been banned from the game already, but it’ll never be possible to eliminate the problem entirely, especially with Call of Duty: Warzone’s massive player base.
