Warzones Roze Is Still Hard To See Despite Rook Skin Nerf

A recent update to Call of Duty: Warzone has players up in arms. The update was supposed to make one problematic skin for the operator Roze, but the online community still thinks it wasn’t enough. Despite the recent nerf, Roze is still too hard to see in the game, making the character way stronger than anyone else, making the game unbalanced.

Call of Duty: Warzone is the Battle Royale game from the famous Call of Duty franchise from Activision. The free-to-play game has been rife with issues since launching in early 2020. Hackers, bugs, and enormous update packages have caused the Warzone player base consistent trouble. Even still Raven Software, the developers of the game, have been hard at work trying to make the game better with constant updates and fixing the issues as they pop up. This is just the latest in a long list of grievances that players have had with Warzone.

Two weeks ago, Raven Software announced that the issues that players had been reporting concerning the Roze skin in gameplay being too difficult to see for months on end would finally be addressed in the next official patch for the game. Now that patch is live, players are still finding the same issue is still there, with the black outfit of the skin blending into darker spots and shadowy areas on the map. This makes the skin perfect for campers, who use it to hide in dark spaces and attack unsuspecting players who wander nearby. This has made going into almost any building in the game almost certain death, with the camping strategy becoming overwhelmingly popular among the player base.

The recent patch did in fact make the Roze skin easier to see, but not in the way players were asking for. The patch made the Warzone map of Verdansk brighter instead of changing the skin, making the darker regions and shadows just a little bit brighter. While this means there are fewer spots for Roze players to hide in and abuse this exploit, it doesn’t completely eliminate the issue. There are still plenty of places for Roze skin users to camp out. Even with the brighter map, the game is still very dark and has been since the beginning.

Warzone still has a ways to go in terms of being a perfect game, but it seems the developers are trying to find ways to fix issues that may prevent similar issues from popping up in the future. By making the new Verdansk map brighter, it could help prevent other darker skins from using the same method. Hopefully, the developers will see the response from the community and make the game even brighter down the road.
