When FFXIV Endwalkers Incorrect Ninja Ability Will Be Fixed

The release of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker brought many exciting additions to existing jobs; however, some errors occurred in the development of new actions, like the Ninja’s Forked Raiju and Fleeting Raiju. Each expansion, players can expect their favorite jobs to receive new abilities and sometimes even different gameplay mechanics. There are now a total of twenty jobs, with the addition of Reaper and Sage to FFXIV, creating more opportunities for mistakes to occur during the development process. The community is quick to give feedback to the team behind the game whenever a bug is found. A fix is already being worked on for the new Ninja actions and will be implemented in the future.

Ninja is one of the more complex jobs in Final Fantasy XIV and can be very overwhelming when looking at all the abilities. Luckily, players can spend as much time as they need practicing their rotation on training dummies. They can be found in city-states, major cities around the world, and outside of Free Company houses. The introduction of FFXIV’s Empyreum Housing District gives adventurers access to even more opportunities to practice in Ishgard. Every action comes with a tool-tip to explain the potency, uses, and combo skills associated with the action. While difficult at first, Ninja is a satisfying job to master and perfect. The development team is aware of how important the rotation is on Ninja to maintain their DPS and recently posted how they plan to fix the problem.

On December 9, 2021, FFXIV Game Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida wrote an update on current known issues on The Lodestone. Forked Raiju and Fleeting Raiju are currently working as intended. The issue is actually with the Hollow Nozuchi skill being set as a melee weaponskill and not as an ability. Whenever Raiton is cast, the Ninja gains a stack of Forked Raiju Ready and can use Forked Raiju. After executing the skill, a stack of Fleeting Raiju Ready is obtained and allows Fleeting Raiju to be used. Either stack is “canceled with the use of a melee weaponskill.” The post goes on to say, “Hollow Nozuchi should not have been set as a weaponskill, but as an ability to match our specifications.” Director Yoshida also mentions that the fix to Ninja will happen with Patch 6.01. Due to recent Enderwalker server congestion, players got free game time, and adventurers will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to practice the new changes to Ninja.

Ninja Received A Big Rework In FFXIV: Endwalker

Instead of two separate actions for Ninja, Assassinate now turns into Dream Within a Dream at level 56. To help players maintain their Huton Gauge, a new weaponskill called “Huraijin” was added that refreshes Huton by 30 seconds if active, or grants a full 60-second gauge. At level 82, Ninjas get a powerful AoE weapons skill called Phantom Kamaitachi and learn Hollow Nozuchi at level 86 to enhance Hakke Mujinsatusu. Forked Raiju and Fleeting Raiju are both acquired at level 90. These are all major changes to the job for Endwalker, but there are still some smaller alterations players will need to find out in-game.

Ninja has been a part of FFXIV since A Realm Reborn and has only continued to improve alongside all the other jobs in the game. The development team uses the feedback from the community to help make the necessary modifications. While difficult at first, Ninja feels fluid, fun to play, and the job is also rewarding to master.
