Will Kaycee Clark Use Her Winning Big Brother Strategy on the Challenge

Kaycee Clark snuck her way to a win and $500,000 cash prize on Big Brother Season 20, and on this season of MTV’s The Challenge, she could be doing the exact same thing – but this time, it’s for double the money.

Kaycee, a professional football player, wasn’t a big character in Big Brother season 20. Despite being in the level six, a powerhouse alliance that controlled the game in key moments, she received little screen time in comparison to the louder personalities of the House, like Angie “Rockstar” Lantry or finalist Tyler Crispen. When asked what her strategy would be in the game, she said her honesty and people-person skills would carry her to the end, and they did exactly that. Unlike a social game rooted in under-the-table deals and empty promises, Kaycee’s avoidance of drama and enduring loyalty branded her as the house nice guy, ultimately given her a smooth path to a 5-4 vote in the finale.

Now half a million dollars richer, Kaycee carried her Big Brother strategy over to MTV as a prospect, or newcomer, to season 35 of The Challenge: Total Madness. Clark’s Big Brother housemates Bayleigh Dayton and Swaggy C, the showmance turned power couple, and Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat also joined this season’s prospect class. Midway through the season and history continues to repeat itself as Kaycee fades into the background of the action. Swaggy C and Bayleigh continue to deliver the drama and strategy moves fans know them for, while Fessy’s 6’5″, 250 lb. stature makes him nearly impossible to miss in challenges. However, Kaycee, despite a brief hiccup with veteran Nany Gonzalez, is again laying low and playing the friendship field with her trademark vagueness and endearing positivity.

She’s racked up two tribunal seats and a red skull, knocking out veteran player and unholy trinity alliance member Kailah Casillas in the process. Yet, she hasn’t been explicitly identified as a threat from any of the other female competitors who continue to train their eyes on competition beast Jenny West and last season winner Dee Nguyen. But this is how Kaycee plays, sailing her way in the middle of the pack as her effortless social game hides her real threat level. It wasn’t until Kaycee smoked Kailah in purgatory, chucking heavy mock bombs out of a truck, that the women started to take note of Kaycee’s innate athleticism. Following the elimination challenge, Dee said, “I have really underestimated Kaycee. I just assumed that she was an average competitor, but [after] watching her perform, she is someone I need to worry about.”

As one of only five women to now have their red skull, which is necessary to enter the final, Kaycee is on a trajectory to win yet another grand prize. Although, it is possible that her come on, come all strategy to friends in the house could turn on her, since she has yet to form any solid alliances in The Challenge. Regardless if she wins or is eliminated, it is almost a Kaycee guarantee that she will do so nonchalantly and to the surprise of her castmates.
