Wolverines Weirdest TeamUp Is With A Marvel Hero Youve Never Heard Of

Marvel’s Wolverine has teamed up with many superheroes over the years including the web-slinging hero Spider-Man. But, his strangest team-up occurs in the pages of Wolverine/Doop Vol. 1 #2 as he joins forces with a green, alien blob known as Doop to rescue a mutant from the clutches of a skillful hunter.

Although Wolverine prefers to be a lone wolf and steer clear of trouble any chance he can get, he does end up collaborating with a plethora of heroes in the Marvel Comics. Some of his unexpected team-ups with other superheroes are memorable such as his team-up with Ms. Marvel in Ms. Marvel #6. While other team-ups are quite comical regarding the innumerable times Wolverine teams up with the Merc With A Mouth a.k.a. Deadpool. But there is one team-up that is difficult to fathom and that’s his collaboration with the unusual being called Doop – a space alien who possesses psionic abilities, can shape-shift, and even break the fourth wall.

In Peter Milligan, Darwyn Cooke, J. Bone, Laura Allred, and Nate Piekos’ comic Wolverine/Doop Vol. 1 #2 Wolverine and Doop are teaming up to recover a mutant called the Pink Lady as well as her Pink Mink, which possesses a magical material that gives off a fume causing low-level mutants to turn into the crazed Pink Psychos, and return her to the Canadian Institute. Though creating Pink Psychos is not the only issue Wolverine and Doop have to face when the Pink Lady and her Mink are out of containment. They also have to worry about gaining the Code-X-Fever – a fever that causes high-level mutants to hallucinate and increases their sexual desire for the Pink Lady and her Mink. After the two realize they don’t have the Code-X-Fever and learn the Pink Lady and her Mink have been taken by a huntsman known as Hunter Joe – a hunter who devotes his life to capturing and killing mythical creatures such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. And once Wolverine and Doop enter Hunter Joe’s lair, they become trapped by a group of pain-inducing hooks.

While Hunter Joe is patronizing Wolverine and Doop about adding their heads to his trophy room, the Pink Lady and her Mink call upon all of their Pink Psychos and commands them to attack and kill Hunter Joe. In the meantime, Wolverine and Doop escape from their bonds, grab the Pink Lady and her Mink, and leave Hunter Joe’s lair. Afterward, the situation becomes a bit stranger as Wolverine and Doop begin to fight over the Pink Lady as they’re drawn in by her beauty and pink fumes. Though once Wolverine realizes Doop longs for the Pink Lady’s Mink and not her, they have a couple of laughs and go to bed with the two. The next day, Wolverine looks at Doop and says, “Hey buddy, looks like we both had the night of our lives. What’s that ya got behind yer back?” Doop removes two Pink Minks from behind his back and tells Wolverine that it has, “reproduced asexually,” which also means that Doop will be bringing one back home for his personal pleasure.

Wolverine has some strange adventures such as the time he teams up with Top Chef Master Chris Cosentino and becomes a cannibal’s never-ending buffet, but his adventure with Doop is next-level weird. And the thing that makes this comic so bizarre is mainly Doop’s interactions with anything involving the Pink Mink. Although it’s not mentioned earlier, Doop does end up having sex with a Pink Dove at the beginning of the comic.
