Starting today, Microsoft is bringing Xbox Game Pass to Apple mobile devices and Windows 10 personal computers via Xbox Cloud Gaming. The Cloud Gaming system allows users to stream over 100 Game Pass titles to devices such as iPhones, iPads and PCs. The service allows Xbox players to access their favorite games through an even wider range of technology mediums.

In April 2021 Microsoft began a beta test of Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing select Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to try out the revolutionary new service. The xCloud service was previously available on Android devices, allowing gamers to wirelessly connect an Xbox controller to the mobile phone to play certain Game Pass titles. The beta test expanded the service to Apple devices and Windows PCs, granting access to an even wider range of gamers. Emails leaked back in May 2021 even hint that Xbox’s xCloud could eventually reach rival consoles such as Sony’s PlayStation 5 or the Nintendo Switch.

A recent Xbox Wire post reveals that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members now have unlimited access to Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the service has been fully expanded to Windows 10 PCs and Apple devices. The service is accessed via an internet browser such as Google Chrome or Safari, and it is currently available in 22 countries. Microsoft also announced that datacenters around the world have been upgraded to utilize Xbox Series X technology, improving Cloud Gaming with faster load times and improved frame rates.

Xbox Game Pass has significantly grown in size over recent years, with the service now offering a massive library of over 300 games for players to experience. Nearly all of Microsoft’s upcoming releases will launch on Xbox Game Pass as well, meaning that the value of the service will only increase over time. Only a handful of announced Xbox titles will not be available via Game Pass at launch, with these few games being the exception to a nearly all-inclusive rule.

While the gaming community is still split over their preference for PlayStation, Nintendo, or Xbox, it is very difficult to deny the value of Xbox Game Pass. The service includes more than 300 games, and the wide release of Xbox Cloud Gaming means that many of these games can be accessed across a huge variety of platforms. Mobile phones, tablets and personal computers now have access to a huge library of quality titles, and this service is included with a Game Pass subscription. While the service has only just become available, Microsoft will likely attract a lot of attention with Xbox Cloud Gaming.
