10 Deadliest Skrulls Who Could Be Coming To The MCU

Secret Invasion promises to introduce a few more Skrulls to the MCU, though there are a couple of upcoming movies that they could appear in as well.

Fans are excitedly awaiting Samuel L. Jackson’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as super-spy Nick Fury in the upcoming Secret Invasion series. The former head of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be dealing with the alien race of Skrulls that debuted in Captain Marvel. He was last seen working alongside the Skrulls in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Comic characters like Talos the Untamed have already debuted in the MCU, but there are quite a few potentially deadly threats that could make their appearance in Secret Invasion and other upcoming films. Given their shape-changing abilities, it’s even possible that a few of these powerful Skrulls have already appeared in the MCU.

10 Queen Veranke Disguised Herself As An Avenger To Lead The Secret Invasion

It’s unclear how much of the Secret Invasion comic storyline will be adapted to the MCU given the largely peaceful nature of the cinematic Skrulls. However, it’s still likely fans will see the leader of the Skrull invasion of Earth make an appearance in the Disney+ series.

Queen Veranke took control of the surviving Skrull empire after it was devastated first by Galactus and then Annihilus. She posed as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman and got close to the New Avengers in order to incapacitate the team when her army of Super-Skrulls attacked. Queen Veranke then led the charge in the final battle against Marvel’s heroes.

9 Kl’rt Gained The Fantastic Four’s Powers To Become The First Super-Skrull

Almost all of the Skrulls have the ability to change their shape. However, the warrior named Kl’rt was one of the first to gain enhanced powers as the Super-Skrull. He was given the Fantastic Four’s powerful abilities, which made him a dangerous threat to Marvel’s First Family.

There have been a few other versions of the Super-Skrulls created over the years that blended abilities from Marvel’s powerful Illuminati members. Super-Skrull played a large role in a number of cosmic events including Secret Invasion, though he could also appear as a villain in The Fantastic Four movie.

8 Paibok The Power Skrull Was Enhanced With Deadly Elemental Abilities

The Fantastic Four faced off with another deadly villain known as Paibok the Power-Skrull. He had also been enhanced by the Super-Skrull process. Unlike Kl’rt who gained a combination of the Fantastic Four’s abilities, Paibok’s were elemental in nature. His strength and durability were increased, but he also gained the ability to transform his skin into hard metal.

He could also release bio-electric blasts and freeze the air around him to generate ice. Paibok was also gifted with a powerful hypnotic gaze. He frequently used this ability to temporarily take control of other Skrulls and even members of the Fantastic Four.

Fans may be familiar with the Guardians of the Galaxy thanks to their big-screen success in the MCU. However, the original comic team first appeared in the far future of the Marvel universe. The team welcomed a number of powerful members to the original Guardians of the Galaxy, including the Skrull known as Replica.

She used her shape-changing abilities to stow away on their ship initially. She ultimately earned her place on the team to later become a founding member of the Galactic Guardians. Some of the original Guardians made their MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, which makes it possible that Replica could make an appearance as well.

6 Godkiller Was A Super-Skrull Who Wielded Beta Ray Bill’s Hammer

Secret Invasion featured a number of empowered Super-Skrulls with the combined abilities of heroes from the Avengers and the X-Men. The Skrull warrior known as Godkiller was given an even more powerful edge when she was sent to take on the Asgardians.

Godkiller had the abilities of powerful female villains like Thundra, Titania, Volcana and Battleaxe. She was also outfitted with the broken enchanted hammer of Beta Ray Bill. Godkiller’s use of Stormbreaker put her on another level and could make her a powerful match for Thor. Her presence could also bring about the long-awaited MCU debut of Beta Ray Bill.

5 Ethan Edwards Was A Hero Named Virtue Who Discovered He Was A Skrull

Spider-Man first encountered the powerful new hero known as Virtue when Peter Parker was given a new partner at the Daily Bugle named Ethan Edwards. Virtue then made his superheroic debut and began working with Spider-Man as his mentor. He was sent to Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four to get a reading on his powerful but untested abilities.

He learned the truth of his origins as a Skrull who had escaped the destruction of his homeworld. His father was the creator of the Super-Skrull program, and he endowed his son with incredible abilities before sending him to Earth. Edwards had a breakdown and briefly turned towards villainy before he decided to use his powers to help others.

4 Lyja The Lazerfist Fell In Love When She Infiltrated The Fantastic Four

Paibok the Power Skrull masterminded a new plan to bring down the Fantastic Four. he planned to use one of their infiltration agents to replace someone close to the team. Lyja the Lazerfist was chosen for the mission, and she replaced Alicia Masters in order to get close to Ben Grimm/Thing.

Instead, she fell in love with Johnny Storm/Human Torch and turned on Paibok. Lyja was enhanced by the Skrull army and given energy blasts, earning her the title of Lazerfist. These abilities coupled with her advanced shape-shifting skill made her an even more impressive threat who could appear in the upcoming Fantastic Four adaptation.

3 Titannus Is A Powerful Super-Skrull Who Was Used As A Weapon Against Earth

The powerful Skrull known as Titannus was born without the shape-changing abilities common to the rest of his race. This made him a perfect candidate for the Super-Skrull experiments. He gained incredible strength as well as a regenerative healing factor that made him nearly impossible to kill.

He escaped from the Super-Skrull facility and found passage to a wartorn planet. The ruler of that planet implanted Titannus with false memories and used him as a weapon against Earth. Titannus took on a newly formed team of Defenders and caused a lot of damage. He was ultimately defeated by the arrival of a new hero who was secretly a fellow Skrull.

2 Z’Reg Defected From The Skrull Army To Become A Superhero Named Crusader

Titannus was defeated by a new hero named Crusader. He was really a Skrull named Z’Reg who had been assigned to destabilize the Avengers on Earth. However, he arrived during a time when the team had already disbanded. Z’Reg decided to remain on Earth where he fell in love with the people. He decided to abandon his mission and become a superhero.

He tried to mentor a new young hero named Freedom Ring who possessed a reality-altering cosmic ring. After the inexperienced Freedom Ring died, Crusader was left in charge of the powerful weapon. Crusader continued to disguise his true identity as a Skrull and joined with the Avengers Initiative. However, he was seemingly killed during Marvel’s Secret Invasion storyline.

1 Hulkling Is A Young Avenger Who Became The Ruler Of The Kree/Skrull Alliance

Teddy Altman was a young human boy when he discovered his shape-changing abilities. He eventually used them to become Hulking, a super-strong founding member of the Young Avengers. He eventually learned of his origins as the son of the Kree Captain Mar-Vell and the Skrull Princess Anelle. Teddy was secretly hidden on Earth, though agents from each empire eventually found him.

Because of his dual heritage, he was chosen to become the new emperor of the Kree/Skull Alliance which ruled most of the galaxy. Hulkling also later joined a new version of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He fought alongside his husband Wiccan, the grown son of Vision and Scarlet Witch who recently appeared in WandaVision.
