Even after near cancellation and switching networks, Brooklyn Nine-Nine remains one of the funniest shows on TV, not to mention one of the most binge-able shows on streaming services. Set in the fictional NYPD 99th Precinct in Brooklyn, the show follows the antics of several detectives, their robotic captain, and the civilian administrator.

Outside of Hitchcock and Scully, everyone there is great at their jobs, no matter how idiosyncratic their personalities might be. Heck, even Hitchcock and Scully have moments of brilliance that give viewers a glimpse into who they used to be. But after seven seasons, there a few questions that need answers.

10 Who, Exactly, Is Bill Hummertrout?

As part of the ongoing Halloween Heists, Jake brought in a gentleman by the name of Bill Hummertrout. Yes, the character’s last name is Hummertrout. A Charles Boyle lookalike, Bill has played a key role in many of the heists and has occasionally popped up in other episodes.

All that’s really known about him is that he may be homeless, is part of a pyramid scheme, and was definitely a prostitute when Jake first met him. Bill is an enigma wrapped in a riddle that’s trying to give you a creepy front-facing massage with too much eye contact.

9 What Is The Vulture’s Job?

Keith “The Vulture” Pembroke has been a constant thorn in the side of the 99. Originally a member of the Major Crimes Unit, he would swoop in and pick off nearly finished cases to solve and take credit for. But over the years, The Vulture’s role in the NYPD has changed several times, at one point even taking over as captain of the 99.

It’s become increasingly difficult to know what his job actually is and why he keeps moving departments, though sexual harassment suits are likely knowing him.

8 Where is Genevieve?

For the first couple of seasons, Charles Boyle struggled with finding someone to give his almost smothering love to. Already divorced once, relationships with Gina and a friend of Captain Holt’s failed.

Then, he met Genevieve, a fellow weirdo with a fondness for disgusting food and who also loved incredibly inappropriate public displays of affection. She only appeared in seasons three and four and has been gone ever since. Charles mentions her frequently, so they are still married but fans haven’t seen her for a long time.

7 Does Adrian Pimento Have A Pre-Undercover Family?

Adrian Pimento is possibly the most random and erratic character on the show, if not TV. He returned to the 99 after spending 12 years undercover with a brutal mobster named Jimmy “The Butcher” Figgis. After his relationship with Rosa ended, he dropped off the radar, occasionally popping up to add a Jerrycan full of crazy to someone’s day.

While fans know a bit about his post-undercover life, next to no information has been discussed regarding his pre-undercover life. It got a passing mention when he first came back and retrieved a few of his effects from storage.

6 Is Boone Still A Fire Marshal?

Season one highlighted the ongoing feud between the police and the firefighters, neither side having much respect for the other or what they do. At the center of this war of words, pranks and occasionally fists was Fire Marshal Boone.

While the feud has popped up occasionally since season one, Boone has not. If he has even been mentioned since then, it was a fleeting moment at best. One can’t help but wonder if Boone is still around and if he’s even still part of the Fire Department.

5 What Happened To Sharon?

Terry Jeffords is a man who contains multitudes. In addition to being a husband, father, and detective, he writes, paints, and obviously works out a lot. On top of that, he’s an avid yogurt and suspenders enthusiast. Fans were introduced early on to his wife, Sharon, who appeared relatively frequently throughout seasons one, two, and the first half of three.

After that, Sharon is never seen again on screen. Like Genevieve, she comes up in conversation frequently but never appears. It’s a little odd since she was a fixture of Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the early going.

4 Does Holt Have A New Assistant?

When Gina Linetti moved on from the 99 in season six, she left behind a hole that needed to be filled. Now, no one could ever truly replace Gina as a person. That level of egomania is normally a two or three-person job.

But that doesn’t change the fact that Holt still needs an assistant and the precinct still needs a civilian liaison. Outside of one disastrous attempt that brought a mole into the 99, it appears that Gina has yet to be replaced. That’s strange since a lot of time has passed since she left, enough that Jake and Amy now have a baby.

3 Is Gina’s Empire Flourishing?

Speaking of Gina, when fans last saw her in season six, what can best be described as her self-help empire was exploding. She had become the omnipresent social media mogul with legions of devoted followers she always knew she could be. That type of success came with a price, namely people threatening her life.

She called on Jake and Terry for help, highlighting a growing rift in her old friendships. She hasn’t been seen since, leading fans to wonder if she is still in the lives of the 99 and if she’s still successful.

2 Is NutriBoom Still Stalking Peralta?

While Bill has a bit of mystery surrounding him, what is perfectly clear is his love of NutriBoom, a multitiered marketing system. If you guessed that this is the previously mentioned pyramid scheme, you would be correct.

Bill took advantage of a Halloween Heist to draw both Charles and Jake into NutriBoom’s web. Their attempts to get out put them odds with the company, who threatened to pressure Jake until he gave up his crusade against them. Apparently, NutriBoom gives up really easily as they haven’t been heard from since the fifth season.

1 What Happened To Detective Daniels?

The pilot episode focused on Captain Raymond Holt taking over the 99, and the beginning of his relationship with a group of strange but effective detectives. Fortunately, he fit in perfectly. He asked Terry into his office to talk about his new squad.

The first people Terry pointed out were the terrible detectives, Hitchcock, Scully, and Daniels. Hitchcock and Scully obviously became integral parts of the show but that moment was it for Daniels. Giving the character a name and pointing her out seems to indicate that there were plans for her at one point, though nothing happened.
