1000Lb Sisters Why Amy Slaton Says She Has A Lot On Her Plate

Tammy Slaton requires a lot of attention in 1000-lb Sisters, but her sister Amy has more on her plate than ever before in season 3. Although Tammy acts like her younger sister is a burden, it’s evident to the Slaton sisters’ followers that Amy has been a major source of support for Tammy. From needing to carry on with her weight loss goals to having a baby to raise, here’s everything that’s contributed to Amy feeling overwhelmed.

Ever since Amy and Tammy were children, the pair forged a reliant relationship. The Slaton sisters grew up without their mother’s care as the matriarch worked several part-time jobs to make up for the family’s financial insecurity. Amy and Tammy spent most of their childhoods without an adult looking after them, which resulted in the pair depending on each other for comfort and care. Unfortunately, the pair of reality stars remain intertwined even as their well-being requires Amy and Tammy to get some space from one another. Tammy has relied on Amy and her husband Michael Halterman for just about everything including making meals and leaving her house. While Tammy’s weight does render the reality star helpless when it comes to many day-to-day tasks, it would be best for Amy and for Tammy to spend more time apart.

Although Tammy’s health is in too precarious a position for the reality star to be completely independent, it’s still in both Slaton sisters’ best interests for Amy to create space between herself and Tammy. This would help Tammy because Sister Wives fans agree the elder Slaton sister relies on Amy too much and doesn’t push herself hard enough to be self-sufficient. It’s useful for Amy to distance herself from Tammy because the entertainer has too much on her plate without caring for her older sister. Amy’s asserted that she can’t get caught up in Tammy’s dramatic relationships and weight loss attempts because she has other things on her mind. One of the most obvious things Amy’s preoccupied with is her baby, Gage. In addition to saving her life, Amy was motivated to get gastric bypass surgery so she could have the son she must now show up for.

Since she’s given birth to Gage, Amy’s entire life has been dedicated to her blossoming baby boy. Although 1000-lb Sisters fans agree Tammy is one of the neediest reality stars, Gage requires much more of Amy’s attention. As if a newborn isn’t enough responsibility, Amy also still has to stay on top of her weight loss endeavor. Even though she is on the other side of her bariatric surgery, food addiction can’t be cured by an operation. Amy still struggles with sticking to her diet, and the exhausting work of being a mother to a baby is sure to tempt the reality star to stray from her fitness routine. In addition to taking care of her health and Gage, Amy has aspirations to own a house. Due to their financially insecure background, Amy is surely stressed trying to make enough money to make her dreams a reality.

Tammy won’t be able to achieve her weight loss goals without help, but Amy has too much on her plate to be her sister’s chief source of strength. On top of having a baby that needs her, Amy has to make sure she’s progressing in her weight loss and adulthood goals. Hopefully, Amy will finally put Tammy on the back burner and focus on herself moving forward in 1000-lb Sisters.
