A true Taurus is someone that values stability, a chance to be comfortable with who they are and how they present themselves. Characters who are Taurus can be hotheaded, protective, and extremely stubborn, but that’s why we love them.

With some common attributes and some that are only meant for Tauruses, here are the top movie protagonists with Taurus qualities. Either they’re born between 4/20-5/20 or just possess strong qualities of the earth sign.

15 James Bond – Casino Royale (2006)

Many things about Daniel Craig’s James Bond have changed since Casino Royale. But, one thing that will never change about him is his stubbornness. Until 007 gets his archvillain of the week, he doesn’t rest.

Usually, the protective aspect of the Taurus isn’t applicable to Bond. However, in Casino Royale, he was more than willing to put his life on the line for Vesper. In No Time to Die, he went through with it. Craig’s Bond is unlike any other in that he possesses the most positive characteristics of the Taurus. He’s a more developed individual.

14 Detective Benoit Blanc – Knives Out (2019)

Detective Benoit Blanc is far from hotheaded, but he’s certainly stubborn. An investigative character (not entirely unlike Craig’s Bond) is always going to be prone to the tendencies of Taurus movie characters.

Blanc has persistence down to a tee, and that alone would align him with the bull. However, it’s his protectiveness towards Marta Cabrera that seals the deal. Craig has the soft side needed to pull off the combination.

13 John McClane – Die Hard (1988)

If any movie character represents stubbornness, it’s John McClane. Every Die Hard villain at some point becomes enraged by just how hard it is for a single cop to be stopped.

The ever-reluctant hero, persistently in the wrong place at the wrong time, is just as frequently a thorn in the side of his significant other as he is to the terrorists. However, it’s clear that McClane would die for his estranged wife, Holly (even if she does go by Gennero instead of McClane).

12 Father Damien Karras – The Exorcist (1973)

One of the many ways The Exorcist has held up over time is the brilliant, wounded performance by Jason Miller as Father Damien Karras.

He’s a sad, lonely man who has lost sight of his own life. Even with his faith shaken, he puts his life aside and throws himself into the quest to save the soul of Regan MacNeil. By the third act, he’s suffered a geyser of vomit, odious insults, and the death of a colleague. The fact that, in the end, he sacrifices his mortal life and immortal soul for a stranger just further places Karras in the Taurus category.

11 Dominic Toretto – The Fast & The Furious Franchise (2001– )

Dominic Toretto checks all three major boxes of being a Taurus: persistence, protectiveness, temperamental. Dom has changed quite a bit throughout the long-running film franchise, but his notorious desire to protect his “family” remains intact.

Whether he’s running from the law or corroborating with it, Toretto is certainly stubborn. Even with constant gravity-defying hiccups to the plan, he leads the crew to the resolution. Lastly, as discussed throughout the series (and shown via flashback in F9), Toretto has a temper that can prove nearly fatal.

10 Katniss Everdeen – Hunger Games Trilogy (2012–2015)

Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, was born on May 8th which makes her a true Taurus. Katniss was always hard to get along with because of her snarky remarks, stubborn attitude, and overall angst.

Despite her unfriendly demeanor, Katniss is still a loyal friend and daughter, and fierce protector of her district and beliefs. She doesn’t scare easily despite her always downplaying her abilities. She’s a Taurus through and through, which has helped her take down the people threatening her way of life.

9 Batman/Bruce Wayne – Dark Knight Trilogy (2005–2012)

Although Bruce Wayne wasn’t born a Taurus, he possesses some strong Taurus characteristics. He’s impulsive at times, choosing to take on Bane even though he knew he was outmatched, he’s stubborn, refusing to come out of his home for eight years following Rachel’s death, and he’s a lover.

As Batman, he is loyal to his city and he’s not afraid to stand up for what is right, even when it seems like the whole world is against him. He’s a reliable protector, saving Gotham from Scarecrow, The Joker, and Bane.

8 Alice – Alice In Wonderland (2010)

Alice has been a Taurus her whole life, being born on May 4th. In the books, the animated movie, and the live-action portrayals, Alice is very sure of herself and courteous to others. She is skeptical of authority and a bit rash.

Alice is a reliable character, maintaining a similar mindset and ideals despite all the changes that came to her life.

7 Tom Hansen – 500 Days Of Summer (2009)

Tom Hansen is the perfect Taurus, hopeless romantic, driven, and very committed to what he loves. Like any Taurus, Tom celebrates his victories and takes his losses very hard, blaming himself rather than others around him.

He wants to make a name for himself, not just be another boring person. He also wants to settle down and enjoy a stable relationship with someone he loves. He realizes quickly when something is off and that’s how he knew Summer was getting ready to dump him.

6 Bilbo Baggins – The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)

When we first met Bilbo in The Hobbit, he was reluctant to start his adventures as it would take away from his normal routine.

Bilbo is humble yet assertive, he’s compassionate and courageous which makes him a perfect Taurus. Even when he is thrown out of his routine by Gandalf, he decides to help him.

5 Shrek – Shrek Franchise (2001–2010)

Shrek is one of pop culture’s most well-known figures, with memes, references, and fans still talking about the ogre years after his last movie appearance. Shrek starts his journey on a quest to rid his swamp of unwelcomed guests but he turns out to be an unlikely hero.

Shrek is a fan of the simple things, living in his humble swamp, minding his own business, and not bothering anyone. When he meets Donkey he becomes a loyal friend/protector and when he meets Fiona, he becomes a fierce protector and hopelessly committed to their relationship.

4 T’Challa – Black Panther (2018)

The king of Wakanda has become one of the most well-liked heroes in all of the MCU. Although he is a king, T’challa remains humble and focused on helping his people. He shows a little bit of the bad sides of a Taurus, being a little arrogant at times and being too hotheaded.

He remains loyal to his people and family and even his Avenger friends when he agrees to help them take down Thanos.

3 Woody – Toy Story Franchise (1995–2019)

Woody was the unquestioned leader of his toy friends and apple of Andy’s eye before Buzz came into his world. Once he was thrown off his routine, Woody was reluctant to change, refusing to share playing time with Buzz and opting to get rid of him instead.

Woody eventually warms up to Buzz but his reluctance to change stays prominent throughout his appearances in all four movies.

2 Chewbacca – Star Wars Saga (1977–2019)

Chewbacca may not be everyone’s favorite character like Luke, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, and Rey, but he’s just as important to the Star Wars movies as any of the characters. Chewie is a hard person to read as he’s not a person but a Wookie who only communicates through growls and loud purrs.

Chewie is nonetheless a Taurus; He’s loyal, determined, hard-working and he really cares abo his friends.

1 Tinkerbell – Peter Pan (1953)

Tinkerbell is the source of magic for Peter Pan and one of his most loyal friends. Tink is a drama queen, literally dying if she doesn’t get enough attention and she doesn’t trust people she doesn’t know. She’s mean to Wendy for this reason alone and eventually warms up to her only after Peter’s interference.

Despite her size, Tink protects her friends and although she is hot-tempered she loves them to death. As far as Taurus cartoon characters go, Tink is probably the best example.
