5 Most Compatible Couples On Love Island Season 2 (& The 5 Least)

Season 2 of Love Island had some adorably lovey-dovey couples — and some couples who made zero sense together.

Hello, islanders! Season 2 of Love Island USA has brought us more love, more drama, and more fun than ever before. The producers found an interesting and diverse cast from all different backgrounds (though they need to work on size inclusivity and LGBTQ+ representation).

Season 2’s cast of singles has, for better or for worse, formed many relationships throughout the summer. People are complicated, and things predictably get messy when alcohol is provided every day. Some relationships in the villa have gotten ugly, some have thrived, and some have remained somewhere in between. Either way, fans obsess over the islanders and some have become social media sensations.

10 Lakeynn & Bennett

Lakeynn and Bennett met at the very end of the season, but have gotten close very quickly. When Lakeynn entered the villa, she turned the head of already coupled up Carrington. She pursued him, until he chose to stick with his previous girl, Laurel, at the re-coupling ceremony. This is when Bennett got to choose Lakeynn, who he had expressed feelings for since the moment she entered the villa. Lakeynn seemed to like Bennett, but since she had chased Carrington more vigorously, fans weren’t sure how authentic the connection was. However, in the short time they have been coupled up, Lakeynn and Bennet have shown true compatibility. They have been super cute with snuggles and showing affection, and the fact that the comfort level is already there shows something special.

9 Moira & Calvin

Moira has had many different relationships in the villa while searching for the right fit. It seems that she has finally found that fit with Calvin. Calvin is incredibly sweet and real. However, when he told Moira about his feelings, she friend-zoned him.

However, when some new girls came into the villa, it seemed like Moira realized she shouldn’t let Calvin slip away. Since then, their relationship has skyrocketed into something beautiful and real. Fans were happy to see Moira finally happy and to see Calvin finally have a steamy romance, as he was friend-zoned many times.

8 Cely & Johnny

Cely and Johnny have been together basically from day one. Johnny proposed to Cely, asking her to be his girlfriend, and they dropped the L bomb already. They both are bubbly, big personalities that keep the party going all day and night. Together, they seem unstoppable. They laugh constantly, but also have meaningful conversations about family and life.

They had a major issue in their relationship when Johnny went to Casa Amor and pursued another girl. However, Cely was able to hear about what happened and decided to move forward with Johnny. A lot of fans think that Johnny wasn’t 100% honest about what happened at Casa Amor. Other fans think Johnny is faking his feelings for the camera. However, they seem rock solid right now and were able to work through conflict, which is very important in a relationship.

7 Kiersten & Tre

This couple never actually got to happen, because Tre kept his admiration for Kiersten a secret. However, fans went crazy when he revealed his passion in a confessional. Tre is arguably one of the nicest guys in the villa, a friend to everyone, a good time, and just a well-meaning guy. He and Kiersten formed an incredible friendship, they were very close, always joking around and even a little touchy. Furthermore, Kiersten is a fan favorite for her kindness and independence. She never got the couple she deserved, where someone was giving her 100%. Tre would have been that guy. The compatibility is there. However, Tre got kicked out of the villa too soon. Fans can’t wait to see if he will express his feelings on the outside and if it’ll work out between these two.

6 Justine & Caleb

Coming in at a landslide for the most compatible couple, is, of course, Justine and Caleb. These two are each the most amazing people, and together they are a power couple. Justine had a hard time at the beginning of the season, not seeming to click with anyone. Fans love her genuineness, her humor, and her fashion choices, so they really wanted to see her find love.

Insert Caleb. He stole America’s hearts as well, fans voted for him for “guy you’d most want to be best friends with”. Caleb chose Justine when she and Rachel were fighting over him. Ever since, they have been steady, strong, and inspiring. They value the same things and make each other better. If the only thing to come from this whole season is Justine & Caleb, then it was worth it, and fans can’t wait to see if they’ll be together IRL.

And now, the 5 least compatible couples.

5 Mackenzie & Jalen

When new guy Jalen entered the villa, Mackenzie seemed to light up. She went from being uptight and anxious, to carefree and fun. Jalen was giving her the attention she needed, and bringing out her good side. Fans loved to see her happy. Unfortunately, this only lasted a few days.

Jalen seemed to be getting over Mackenzie and falling for Kiersten instead. When Mackenzie confronted Jalen, he acted like she was crazy. While she may have been a bit high maintenance, Jalen had a major switch up. Their communication was not there, and Mackenzie even slept outside to avoid sharing a bed with Jalen. Yikes.

4 Kiersten & Carrington

Kiersten and Carrington got together towards the beginning of the season. They seemed perfect for a while, but then when she wanted more out of the relationship, he just wasn’t willing to put in the work. They decided to remain friends, leaving Kiersten to watch Carrington pursue many other girls. She made it clear that her heart was still with him, all the way until the night she walked out of the villa. Heartbreaking. Kiersten deserves someone to love her how she loves Carrington, but he just wasn’t that guy.

3 Moira & James

Moira and James were together day one of Love Island, and they hit it off crazy fast. They were the couple everyone wanted to be, completely obsessed with each other. That made it all the more tragic when the couple took a nosedive. Moira felt it was moving too quickly, and James ended up showing a dark side when he yelled aggressively in Moira’s face.

2 Laurel & Carrington

Laurel is a sweet Southern belle, introduced in Casa Amor. Carrington is a Western cowboy player. They met at Casa Amor, and Carrington chose to take Laurel back to the villa with him. It seemed like they were a great match. Laurel brought out a kinder side of Carrington than fans had previously seen. When Kiersten had asked for more physical affection and romantic attention, Carrington seemed unwilling. However, with Laurel, Carrington organizes little cute dates and is very cuddly with her.

Carrington even told Laurel that no new girl could walk in and turn his head. Cut to the next take, Lakeynn walked in wearing a sexy devil outfit and Carrington’s head falls off. He pursued Lakeynn openly in front of Laurel, making Lakeynn think he would pick her and then in a surprise ending, picked Laurel at the re-coupling. Laurel forgave Carrington, but fans don’t think he deserves her. When talking about the future, he is very hesitant and wishy-washy, and Laurel needs someone more consistent. We all hope Laurel finds a good guy.

1 Mackenzie & Connor

Taking the cake for the least compatible couple has to be Mackenzie and Connor. They were together for a long time and made a mess throughout. Unfortunately, these two just brought out the worst in each other. Connor made Mackenzie insecure and anxious, and Mackenzie made Connor confused and rude. The crux of their issues lay in Connor’s inability, to be honest with Mackenzie. He would talk badly about her to absolutely everyone in the villa, then turn around and tell her he only wants her. This behavior made Mackenzie look stupid because he was leaving her completely out of the loop. That is just never okay.
