UA High School and Hogwarts are two of the coolest schools in fiction. This is 5 reasons why we want to go to UA, and 5 why we prefer Hogwarts.

For an entire generation of Harry Potter fans, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was the most wonderful place in all of fiction. A land of magic where students were taught to cast spells, brew potions, and take out the occasional Dark Lord in between sessions of quidditch and butterbeer chugging.
The concept of a school for gifted youngsters is not exclusive to Harry Potter, however. Take My Hero Academia, for instance. It features the U.A. High School, a learning institute where kids with special superpowers are taught how to manage those powers and become heroes. Both Hogwarts and U.A. are pretty awesome places to study at, so here are 5 reasons why we’d want to go to U.A., and 5 why we’d prefer Hogwarts.
10 Hogwarts: Better principal
Nezu is the principal of U.A. He is an amalgam of several different animals, who was genetically experimented upon and developed a high intelligence. Nezu is a polite individual and a dedicated teacher who has often put himself in the line of danger to protect students. In any other race, he would win out as the perfect principal.
If he wasn’t up against Albus Dumbledore, that is. The headmaster of Hogwarts is not only a gifted teacher and a beloved father figure for many, but he also happens to be the most powerful and badass wizard of all time. It would be worth going to Hogwarts for an interview, only to get rejected, if you got to meet Dumbledore in the process.
9 U.A. High School: Better Syllabus
Hogwarts is an awesome place if you want to learn magic, but a pretty terrible place for learning literally anything else. Sure, magic is awesome, but learning scientific principles, reading and math is also pretty important in the real world.
U.A. wins out in this regard by also having classes devoted to regular subjects like literature and math in addition to teaching students how to control their powers. You have a better chance of becoming a well-rounded student at U.A. than at Hogwarts.
8 Hogwarts: Room of Requirement
This one room at Hogwarts is basically the genie’s lamp, but with unlimited wishes and no ironic twists in the granting of those wishes to ‘teach you a lesson about greed’ or whatever. The room of requirement will provide you with exactly what you are looking for, and is limited only by your imagination.
Need a place to escape Umbridge? Easy. Need a place even the Death Eaters can’t penetrate? Simple. Need a place that holds unlimited food or money? You can bet one Hogwarts student or another has already made it happen.
7 U.A. High School: Hi-Tech Classrooms
Hogwarts has no use for technology, and the magical elements are under strict supervision by the staff, meaning you can’t do much on your own unless you happen to be named Harry Potter. U.A., on the other hand, is every bit as advanced as you would expect a superhero school in an anime about superpowers to be.
The Development Studio alone houses enough high-tech gadgetry to impress Tony Stark. Hogwarts was based on British boarding schools from decades ago, and you know it would be tough to survive in such an institute these days that doesn’t even carry Wi-Fi.
6 Hogwarts: Quidditch
Thanks to Harry Potter, brooms are no longer the domain of cackling witches, but the rides needed to play one of the coolest sports in fiction: quidditch.
Sure, the points system is broken down to make Harry the most important player on his team, and the setup of the sport is a little hard to follow. But the game itself is so thrilling to watch that one can only imagine how cool it must be to play.
5 U.A. High School: Stylish Fashion
Once again we come down to the fact that anime is just inherently more stylish than most other art forms. While Hogwarts students follow a strict dress code, even their regular clothes are hardly on the cutting edge of fashion. The most prominent girl in the series, Hermione, was too busy reading books and saving the day to care about the clothes she wore.
On the other hand, U.A. students have superheroes to look up to, including their flamboyant sense of fashion. This means we have gotten to see way more interesting fashion choices in My Hero Academia than in the world of Harry Potter.
4 Hogwarts: The Beautiful Scenery
If Hogwarts was ever shut down for repeatedly putting its students in mortal danger, as it totally should be, it could easily be turned into a tourist spot. The place is literally enchanting, and the movies have given us some breathtaking views of the great lake, the hills surrounding the giant castle, and the inside of the castle itself that teeming with all sorts of extraordinary vistas.
On the other hand, U.A. is set inside a city, and is a regular building, albeit an extremely high-tech one. It lacks the visual appeal that Hogwarts has to offer.
3 U.A. High School: Better Teachers
Hogwarts had some pretty sucky teachers in Harry’s time. Quirrell was a servant of Voldemort. Lockhart was a fraud. Snape was… just… awful in every way. Hagrid was dangerously unqualified. And even the competent teachers like McGonagall and Flitwick did a very poor job of protecting the students from the basilisk, or the troll, or even the army of Death eaters that took over the castle.
On the other hand, many of the teachers at U.A. are actual superheroes, and try to make sure they provide the best education not just in heroics but for regular life as well.
2 Hogwarts: Learning Magic
At the end of the day, despite the multitude of problems plaguing Hogwarts, you know you would go there in a heartbeat to learn magic. To be able to brew potions that make you incredibly lucky, to learn spells that allow you to destroy enemies, levitate objects or become invisible.
The opportunity to learn all that and more is worth having to deal with the occasional giant three-headed dog or soul-sucking wraith.
1 U.A. High School: Becoming A Superhero
Are wizards cooler or are superheroes? Naturally, the answer is Doctor Strange, who is both. At U.A., you get to learn how to become a superhero and control the powers that had been lying dormant within you all along.
You also get to study under the tutelage of actual superheroes, and when the supervillains come calling, you will have the tools to fight them.
