All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

BioWare’s latest expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic is called Legacy of the Sith and features an exciting cast of new and returning characters. Legacy of the Sith marks the anniversary of Star Wars: The Old Republic’s creation and includes an overhaul of existing in-game mechanics alongside a brand new storyline. New and returning players have the opportunity to experience the earliest chapters in Star Wars history, during a time where the Jedi Order and Sith Empire battled for control of the galaxy. SWTOR: Legacy of the Sith takes players to new locations, where their galactic adventure continues to claim dominance for their side.

Legacy of the Sith’s storyline primarily takes place on Manaan, where the Sith Empire has launched a surprise invasion on the neutral planet. Those familiar with Star Wars lore may recognize Manaan as a neutral planet due partly to their production of kolto for both the Jedi and the Sith. Imperial-aligned players work to gain complete control over Manaan and their kolto supply, while Republic players work with the local militia to force the Sith off-world. Details beyond the base conflict are murky, but SWTOR players can also expect appearances from Darth Malgus, whose schemes have continued to mount in the shadows.

Star Wars: The Old Republic features many stories and interesting characters for both Imperial and Republic players with ten years of content to choose from. Some are homages to other games, like Knights of the Old Republic, while others draw from deeper Star Wars lore that hasn’t appeared on big screens. At the same time, fans can expect the return of some characters from Onslaught, and new Republic and Imperial characters dedicated to completing their goals on Manaan. Players can also expect additional characters within the R-4 Installation Operation and the Elom Flashpoint, but their casts for SWTOR have yet to be revealed.

SWTOR’s Legacy Of The Sith Features Darth Malgus’ Return

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Darth Malgus is a frequently used SWTOR villain, and his reign of terror continues to impact the in-game universe. Having first appeared in the Betrayed trailer, Darth Malgus is one of the most powerful Sith in the galaxy. Though Imperial players regularly worked alongside Malgus during the early stages of SWTOR’s Sith Empire Class Stories, he later turned against the Sith Empire while attempting to create his own galactic kingdom. Republic and Imperial players could defeat him in the False Emperor Operation, but he later returned as Empress Acina’s Wrath in Star Wars: The Old Republic Onslaught. Like many characters returning in Legacy of the Sith, Darth Malgus’ story began long before this SWTOR expansion and will likely end in the far future.

SWTOR Legacy Of The Sith Continues Major Anri’s Service

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Though the Sith Empire historically frowned upon aliens in military service, recent battles against the Eternal Empire and the Galactic Republic allowed citizens like Major Anri to show the Empire what they could do. As a twi’lek, Anri’s climb up the Imperial ladder was more dangerous than some of her compatriots. Those desperate to maintain the ‘integrity of the Sith Empire during their battles with SWTOR’s Eternal Empire struggled to keep aliens out of official military service.

Thankfully, their attempts were unsuccessful, leading to Major Anri becoming the commanding officer for a team of Imperial Commandos. Anri’s dry wit and no-nonsense attitude led many Imperial players to enjoy her presence and companionship. Thankfully, Major Anri’s story continues in SWTOR’s Legacy of the Sith update, where her commanding officer charges her to retrieve a tactical advantage for the Manaan attack. It’s unknown how active Anri is in Legacy of the Sith, but her return is key to Imperial players returning.

SWTOR Legacy of the Sith Continues Arn Peralun’s Story

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Arn Peralun is a Jedi of the Galactic Republic who’s endured much over the years. First appearing during SWTOR’s Onslaught expansion, Padawan Arn Peralun trained under Tau Idair and lost most of his organic body to an Imperial bombing. Although Arn Peralun struggles to balance his cybernetics with his spirit, he fully understands the Force’s Light Side.

As a result, Arn Peralun appears in Legacy of the Sith as a fully-fledged Jedi. SWTOR features many Jedi journeys for Republic players, from Kira Carsen to the Jedi Consular and Jedi Knight storylines, but Arn’s features a unique struggle for his identity. Described as a Light Side Anakin Skywalker by SWTOR’s Creative Director and BioWare employee Charles Boyd, Star Wars fans can likely connect to Arn in a way that other Old Republic characters can’t.

Lana Beniko Returns with SWTOR Legacy of the Sith

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Lana Beniko has been a recurring SWTOR character since she first appeared in SWTOR’s Shadow of Revan expansion, where KOTOR’s Revan returned from the dead. She also played an essential role in SWTOR’s Eternal Empire expansions, acting as a commanding officer for the Galactic Alliance between defected Jedi, Sith, and Imperial and Republic soldiers. Lana Beniko is also an available romance for any class and gender, becoming one of the first shared romances in SWTOR. Her support for the Commander continues during the Manaan Invasion, with their previously claimed allegiance determining their story experience.

Tau Idair Paves The Way In SWTOR Legacy of the Sith

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Tau Idair is Darth Rivix’s Republic counterpart, assisting players throughout Legacy of the Sith’s campaign. Though Tau Idair is a later addition to Star Wars’ Old Republic timeline, she features several connections to previous in-game stories. Like many Jedi, Tau fled underground during the Eternal Empire’s assault on the Republic. She worked alongside Jedi Master Gnost-Dural on Ossus and constructed a secret colony for runaway Republic soldiers and Jedi.

Unfortunately, the Empire discovered their presence on Ossus during SWTOR’s Onslaught expansion, forcing her to return to the Republic. While Tau Idair is a fully-fledged Jedi, she is exceptional at combat and sometimes battles with her abilities and their inclination toward the Dark Side. Despite Tau’s self-doubt, she is a paragon of justice and Light and provides Republic players unconditional support and wisdom.

Darth Rivix Is SWTOR’s Charming Sith Liasion

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Sith in traditional Star Wars stories are villains with a habit of betraying friends and foes alike, and The Old Republic’s Sith Empire fails to thwart this stereotype. Lana Beniko embraced a careful balance between charm and intimidation when first meeting player characters in Shadow of Revan, where her urge to ensure the galaxy’s survival overrode her blind loyalty to the Empire. In Onslaught, Darth Rivix becomes the liaison to the Empire’s Hand, an extremely coveted position for many Sith throughout the Empire. While his murderous intent may seem alarming, his charm makes him an acceptable accomplice for many Imperial players. Darth Rivix’s exact role in Legacy of the Sith is unknown, but he’ll likely continue assisting Imperial players in thwarting Darth Malgus’ plots.

Colonel Gallo Defends Manaan in SWTOR’s Legacy Of The Sith

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Little is known about Colonel Gallo aside from being a Selkath, native to Manaan, and head of the planet’s defense forces against the Sith Empire’s invasion. Like most Selkath, she doesn’t support the Republic or the Empire but must work with the Jedi to defend her home. Since Manaan’s most significant export is kolto (which is highly regulated by the locals), the planet struggled to ensure both sides received what medical supplies they needed.

Colonel Gallo has no delusions about why the Republic is helping, understanding that each side only wants a greater share of Manaan’s kolto exports. So while Imperial players can expect a brutal invasion, Republic players must earn the trust and support of Manaan’s locals.

Colonel Korrd Leads An Invasion In SWTOR’s Legacy Of The Sith

All SWTOR Legacy of The Sith Characters Confirmed

Like many Imperial characters in Star Wars games, Colonel Korrd is an uptight, overly professional member of the Imperial military. His duty in SWTOR: Legacy of the Sith is to oversee the military operations of Manaan’s invasion force. As Major Anri’s commanding officer, Korrd ordered her to find help and unknowingly initiated the player’s intervention on Manaan. Unfortunately, Korrd clashes with Darth Norok, his Sith counterpart, during the Manaan invasion, leading to some tense encounters between the two.

Darth Norok Is SWTOR’s Intimidating Warrior In Legacy Of The Sith

Darth Norok is another new character appearing in SWTOR’s Legacy of the Sith, featured as the Sith Commander of Manaan’s Invasion. Norok fulfills a unique position previously occupied by Darth Vowrawn and Lana Beniko: Sith Logistics. Though some may consider Darth Norok’s ranking less threatening than most Sith, his intelligence is rivaled only by his dueling skills. Darth Norok is rumored never to have lost a lightsaber battle, making him one of the deadliest Sith in SWTOR so far. Additionally, Darth Norok and Colonel Korrd represent an internal conflict with the Sith Empire that often pits military officers against their Sith counterparts, presenting a unique conflict opportunity in Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Legacy of the Sith.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Legacy of the Sith expansion promises new adventures with exciting new characters while continuing the character arcs from previous expansions and campaigns. The longevity of the expansion’s new characters is suspect, as Republic and Imperial players are likely to defeat their opposing counterparts in battle at one point or another. Star Wars: The Old Republic Legacy of the Sith releases December 14, 2021, for SWTOR Subscribers, but not for Free-To-Play players.
