Before Holland was cast as Spider-Man for the MCU, Sony had developed plans for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and a Sinister Six movie. Ultimately, the scene was cut, giving Peter and audiences time to mourn the loss of Gwen Stacy. Garfield’s films weren’t as well-received as Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy, but with the current popularity of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it makes sense fans are calling for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Garfield and Maguire may have returned in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it seems unlikely they will return again.
